A giant, weird mess of a game, even when compared to the other Sims games (weird messes in their own right). Even so, it's by far the most interesting of the Sims games, gameplay-wise, maybe even because it's a mess.

As a kid, I spent a lot of time in Sims 2. I loved doing interior design. Matching wall colors to flooring or choosing chair upholstery to carpet. The characters' attitudes didn't bother me as much, but I loved to mess around with the choice of looks.
"Sims 3" appealed to me as an open world. It doesn't have the isolation that the previous installment had. The characters now interact with the city. Whether it's going to the neighbors or the gym, the park or the beach by the ocean. Town residents also age, move, have children, and die at the end of the life cycle.
The wish system has been improved. Now we can choose the wishes we want to fulfill from those offered.
Quests have also been added, which set the interest in the game and give motivation to learn the necessary skill to perform.
I liked the expanded interior design, though, as well as the ability to rotate objects 45 degrees. The ability to combine objects and create new interior ideas is increased.
The only downside is the lags. The game came out very powerful for its time and poorly optimized. As a result, there are problems even on powerful PC builds.

Whoever has played Sims and Sims 2 and then gets out on Sims 3 will notice that this has a lot more to offer. There is more choice in all Categories, it offers an open World and more opportunities.
Although I am a Fan of Sims, I have to say that even all the new Things can be very fascinating at first, but after some Time even one of the Fun goes by, because in my opinion it is always the same.

A Classic with all DLC for my Girlfriend. She was very happy and left everything behind! Mission Girlfriend Happy: Successful!
Whenever she has Time and desire and I don't exactly sit in front of the PC, she plays this Game for a few Minutes, paying particular Attention to how she sets up Houses.
Recommended for anyone who has the Snout full of the Real Life and wants to escape into the virtual.

I played Sims 3 a few Years ago, then just the Base Game. I thought it was quite good, had the won Sims feeling.
After Sims 4 came out and could barely tie me up, I thought I was giving Sims 3 another Chance. Maybe it was just Nostalgia and the Genre I don't like as much as I used to.
ABer no, Sims 3 I could look for as much as any other Part before. It's a wonderful, addictive Pastime.
In the meantime, thanks to Steam Sales, I have paid for a few other Expansion packs without having to pay for Them. And they add real New Gameplay Elements.
The Only Shortcoming, I think, is the comical Lighting, especially outdoors. This often makes Sims look strange, especially the Eyes. But that may already be Meckers at a high Level.

A worthy Successor to Sims 2nd Sims 3 is convincing throughout. The old Sims 2 Player immediately notices the very open World, you can just go anywhere and the usual Sims experience is offered throughout by the Game. The Construction Eatures are also much more extensive. I particularly like the Function of seeing what exactly makes the Sim happy right now (un) and, if necessary, how long this Effect lasts. So The Developers have defenitively managed to create a worthy Successor to the Series.
However: The individual, indispensable for the Fun of the Game, Add-ons are all very expensive. In addition, despite the proud Prices, attempts are still being made to make Money through InGame purchases. For many Items you should still bleach extra Money. The Main Game here for €30€ is not sooo extensive.
So: Lots of Sims = A lot of Money.
The Main Game with all Add-ons (As of April 2014) costs well over 500 (!!!) Euro.
Conclusion: I can strongly urge the Game to be the Game to all Sims fans or those who want to become one. You just have to agree with EA's Pricing Policy. Gaming fun is more than given.
