Shadow Puppeteer review
by MrSpanky

Short, very short, stylish puzzle platformer.

Recommended to play in local co-op.

The game has issues on startup with two Xbox360 controllers loosing sink and causing freezes. Problem got bypassed (never fixed) by alt-tabbing and back. Game takes ages to load intro and first level.

"Rope-shadow" mechanic button configuration is minfdnumbingly stupid.

The last part with the boss is annoying.

Interesting Gameplay principle! You can play the Main Character and its Shadow at the same time. I would call it a puzzle platformer. It requires some Practice to Control the two Characters in sync, but you learn it quite quickly, thanks to the Intuitive and accurate Control. Shadow Puppeteer's Design is in an appealing Comic Style. Iin Single-player Mode it is very entertaining, the Co-op Mode I will still test. If you are a Fan of the Genre, or want to try it out, you won't go wrong with SHADOW PUPPETEER! The bad Meta Critic Refers to the early State of the Game!! There have been some Updates that have VASTLY improved the Game! Also I had first written a negative review, so I am satisfied with the Game, so as it is now (after the Updates) but very satisfied!

Overall, a nice Game for In Between with a good gameplay idea. The best thing to play is with a Controller-with the left Stink and the left Analog stick, you control the real, in the cutscenes without mouth, that is, mute Main Character-and with the right Stick/right Shoulder buttons then its shady likeness. Through the Levels, the two only come through Collaboration-the Shadow image of a high Sims pushes down the real Box from the Lead by Pushing a Box shadow so that the little Boy can also go over the Wall. This goes partly criss-crossing, partly only with later (but viiiiiel unlocked too late) Special Abilities that then tie up Ropes, cut Through Ropes or lay Bombs. There are no Enemies to be done-the Game is more distinguished by Knobelies and Skill Tests. What is also Exciting is that not (!) both (!) Characters live in the 2D Universe. The Shadow image Probably, but not the Boy. This makes the Game a little tricky-especially in the face of hectic "the Lava rises the tower" or "Final Opponent balloons differently to both Characters," each time: "Projectile contact = Instant Death." Precisely because you want to employ your Brain multitasking-like here, it inevitably leads to Synapse Stoning. This may be interesting, but it inevitably annoys-as in the final Levels of "Velocity 2X" (PS4). In the last Boss fight, I also put the Controller out of my Hand after several blows on the Table before it flies against the next Wall. The Problem the Game has is the Unfairness in frantic Situations, the sometimes ultra-stupid camera Perspective and this annoying "Minder Spacing" tape between the Figures. Tite it, it says again "sorry, bitten in the Grass." In addition, the Collision Query is sometimes for the Cat, the graphic Design of the day before yesterday, the surreal Music may be reminiscent of "American McGee's Alice," but the Story is for the Garden thanks to Silent Filmatmo. In addition, Death somehow feels "incomplete"-the Figure flies without anything (screaming doesn't go) just purifying into the Abyss, at some Point Ragdoll and Dazzle is initiated-ZACK-REBOOT. And what a--you know, thanks to the pink Dragons, where a Savepoint is, but Icon (missing even after Level Changes). Mouth Movements from the Upper Villain are also unset. It all seems a little weird. How to make a TwinStick platformer better is shown by "Brothers-A Tale of Two Sons." Nevertheless, you can take this with you here for 2-3 euros. It doesn't take a long time-only felt 3 Hours.
