STASIS review
by MrSpanky

Surprising and fascinating game.

Some puzzles are inconsistent and illogical, forcing the user into a boring routine of trial and error. One puzzle is a pixel hunt and one requires to move the chracter in a pixel perfect path to avoid insta death and a long unskippable repeating cutscene.

Story is short, confusing and badly concluded.

Finished the game but not at all hooked. Some annoying objects to find (because of decorations too sombes or angles of merdic view) that make me stuck as a c.. a certain moment. Average graphics, a BOF BOF scenario and a not too bad atmosphere but in the end, very little to do in this game that ends too quickly if you do not stay stuck on a damn object "not found" as it happened to me. I found the game boring as a whole. To test less than 5 euros if you do not know what to do but if not, I advise against.

From the Graphic, the Game reminds me of Shadowrun And the first Fallout parts-even if, admittedly, these Games belong to a different Genre. Of the Atmosphere, it again reminds me of the Alien Films and Dead Space-claustrophobic (despite giant spacecraft), ecligby-blooded, gritty. You notice the Commitment and Dedication that has been invested in this Game. I am thinking in particular of the beautifully thought-out (and sometimes sick) stories behind characters that you basically never get to know except about their PDAs (Art elektr. Diary) Now unfortunately the big BUT: The Puzzles ... These are too difficult, too illogical, often incomprehensible at all. And as appealing as I find the Graphics, everything is very small, which doesn't exactly make the Puzzles any easier. Overall, the Game is quite short if you don't count the countless Trial and Error attempts To it. I bought the Game at the Sale and for this Price I found it recommended despite the Shortcomings, because it chased many beautiful Shivers over my Back.

Almost two years, this is the time it took to wait to plunge into the filthy, gloomy and disturbed world of stasis. And the least we can say is that it was very much worth the effort. A scenario worthy of the greatest, a dubbing of excellent Bill – rarely a point'n click character will have seemed so alive, so human – and a certain variety in different environments, this is what awaits you if you decide to embark on the adventure. Moreover, even if it proves to be largely perfectible, the full translation of French texts makes the game much more affordable and immersive for those who are least comfortable with English. Finally, despite some worries of animation, an occasionally approximate pathfinding and an interface that lacks clarity at the level of texts, stasis is a point'n click to the longer than correct lifespan that will delight the most avid adventure games.
