Resident Evil 4 (2005) review
Exceptional
by Syed Hassan Ashraf

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I was an avid gamer who used to play like 8 hours a day. Switching to the new game as soon as I completed it. But this game like "Shadow of Rome" was way too good. I loved organizing my weapons, inventory. The fact that everything is so scarce in the game, including bullets, grenades, health kits.
Guns like PRL and hand cannon were cool. The Mercenaries mode was epic. Playing with Jack Krouser was something else.
This has been my all time favourite game by a long way.

My personal favorite game of all time. I've beaten it maybe 20+ times across all versions and have 100%'ed the Wii version (which is still the best way to play it imo). What really draws me to this game is the "power trip" feeling you get upon subsequent playthroughs combined with unlocking the secret weapons makes this game better and better every time you beat it. The story doesn't take itself serious at all, and Leon is just an ultimate badass lending itself to the power trip mentioned earlier. It was the first to popularize over-the-shoulder 3rd person shooter, but it hasn't aged that well due to the controls. If you want to play this game instead of the remake I highly recommend finding a way to play with Wii or other motion controls if possible.

Ok if this does get a remake I only want three things changed:

1. No more tank controls
2. No more QTEs
3. Make Ashley a stronger, more tolerable character

Other than that keep everything exactly the same.

The opening to this game is the videogame equivalent to 'You must be this tall to go on this ride'.

Kinda like Dead Space where, looking back, it's just way too long with most of that length coming from shoving tons of enemies at you. They keep it varied in the beginning but it really goes to shit the further along you get into the Castle. The Village is still amazing, though, to the point where if it was the focus of the game and designed more like RE1 and RE2 (and hell keep the lab thing at the end as well, why not) this would still hold up as the best RE game even after the RE2 remake.
I don’t remember how many turns I have beaten. It is really a masterpiece in resident evil franchise.

Resident Evil 4 is one of those games that you rather watch being played, than play it yourself.
It has zombies, shooting, looting, beautiful models and not so hard puzzles.
It has killed fixed camera angle usual to previous RE games.
SPOILERS ! It has a terrifying chainsaw enemy at the beginning which made me wanna cry when I was younger.
Can't say the soundtrack is original, it's just an usual horror game ost, I like limbo's more!
«Constantly dying and enjoy it»
«Better with friends»
For me this is the best Resident Evil and at least one of the best games ever released. This is how you have to make a sequel! It brought a new genre and new mechanics into the video game industry. Also, settings are amazing and it's just super interesting to play it!
