Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow review
by FAT_DOINK

I wouldn't be able to play this game now, but when it was the only game on my Game Boy Pocket it was life itself. Like many level-based RPGs any problem can be solved by simply grinding long enough to make your part members crazy overpowered, which is exactly what younger me did.

Broken but fun.
Visually pulled everything it could out of the gameboy, a stellar soundtrack and the solid original roster of Pokemon.
Gameplay wise it's mostly functional, even with the broken Special Stat and the glitches to duplicate items or Pokemon.
Still works

what is the link to play it
While a bit broken in its system, this was a stellar way to start the behemoth that is Pokemon today.
«Blew my mind»
The pixel art, the soundtrack, the pokedex entries, the quotes, the rumors, the legacy.
Groundbreaking

The beautiful simplicity of these games is what makes them such timeless classics. There's just a certain magic to the world these games bring you into that even though its a repetitive gameplay loop on portable hardware from 1989. These titles are well deserving of the empire they have spawned. I would HIGHLY recommend playing a nuzlocke run of any of the main line pokemon games if you haven't already. Also reading the comics at nuzlocke.com if that's your thing.
