Project Warlock review
by Paul Rasms

Fun little indie doom clone. Got bored of the mazelike levels before it ended, but it's still fairly solid. The magic system puts a nice twist on the genre.

How horny is that??? More 90s retro feeling doesn't!!! After the penalty disappointment and endless roguelike retro shooters, finally a real Level Game that reaches the 90s games like Doom and Witches and Duke Nukem. Clearly both Thumbs up ... A buy must for all Doom and Witch Fans!!! :-) If you played through it ... Paddle again. When playing the Game you literally play by the following: Project: Warlock Part 2:-) Only minus Point: Once you have the Game through and select the Missions individually jerks it like Sow. But maybe there's another Patch to come. Otherwise, however, for the Price of 12 Euros, it's a Milestone of indie games and a Knee-jerk before the 90s.

Anyone who hasn't witnessed the Old-school shooter from the 90s himself will probably hate the Game: No cover system No script sequences No magic Self-healing No magic self-player Nobody needs No Pay2Win Gedöns No Lootboxes And Of course the Graphics Everyone else (like me) have Your Fun with it;-) Am now at the Beginning of the 3rd Episode and I felled, especially for the Cheap Price (fetched in the Steam Sale) Clear, the Gameplay is very repetitive, but basically these were the 90s ego Shooters too ("Run to the end of the Level and pop down everything that's in between"). For a theoretical second Part, I would like to see more Levels in the Levels, so more like the old DOOM games.

The Idea of the Game is great. Sometimes a beautiful, relatively simple Shooter in a retro look. I don't find the often drawn Comparison to old DOOM Parts etc. quite fitting ... Even if it's in the old Look, it plays itself a little differently. I like The small Role-playing input with Stats, Perks and Improvements. Unfortunately, you can't play enough levels already completed In the Story again, so Role-playing level fails and you only get as far ahead as the Story lets it ... The Degree Of difficulty varies greatly. Sometimes one Level is an incredibly easy Walk and another time you crawl ahead on the Gums. At The Latest, when you've noticed which weapon to improve and how And which Spells are good, it's going to be too easy. (Spoiler: Make the Minigun a Gun And the Spell "Weather rage." Just open the Door, activate both, step back and wait until everything is dead. ;) If you want, you can still get the Armor Magic. This is the simplest Option for everything) The Boss fights, on the other hand, are often annoying. Especially because it's mostly just blunt shooting at it, while in Return you're attacked by a lot of Mobs or the over-strength boss ... One should probably have looked less at the 90s role Models. (Above all, I would have liked to have liked To have liked to lend a Typical Role-playing game for Bosses, but unfortunately that is not possible.) Spoiler: Really annoying is the last Boss. You could have left away a little or two Phases, because it's just not fun just to run away in Circles in front of a Bunch of Mobs and desperately look for ammunition or Energy for the Spells. -.-On The Whole, it was a lot of Fun to play a simple retro style shooter again. One should just be prepared for the Negative Points mentioned above.
