Virginia review
by Kaimynas

Play this game if you want something really different, otherwise, it won't be for you. Virginia is, what people call walking simulators. It's short (around 1.30h - 2h) and visually very beautiful game with a nice full-fledged soundtrack to accompany its story as there is no dialog in the game whatsoever. You play as new FBI graduate Anne who was given a task to solve a case of missing boy Lucas in a fictional town of Virginia called Kingdom. I won't spoil anything, but man, the story is like something from a David Lynch movie. Reality and dreams of Anne mix in the game, in the beginning, it's quite easy to distinguish the two, but as the time goes dreams and reality entwine so much that you just scratch your head going "wut?". The ending part was the most head scratcher for me, I've read story explanation after beating the game, and yeah, symbolism to the left and hyperbolism to the right. Buy this game if you want a different and trippy experience, but buy it on sale, just in case.

Amazing desing, incredible music, great animation, neat level design, messy but interesting storytelling. But the game design is just...bad. "Guess-where-to-click-in-order-to-move-to-the-next-cutscene" kind of bad. If would've worked better as an animated short.

When I had played through Virginia along with my Mate who was watching, we both actually thought: WTF was that straight? And frankly, there was actually little Idea of what we just saw. In the Meantime I played through it a second Time and can now say that from the Game, which in the Beginning was simply "different" from the rest Of the Game world, an artistic Highlight with Ambitions has developed into a Masterpiece for me. Virginia is often counted among the "Walking Simulators." In fact, though, it's much more or less than that: It's an interactive Film where Interactivity has really scaled Back to the slightest level. So in some Scenes you lose Control of the Character. In Addition, the Game works with Cuts that are otherwise only known from the Film. I really didn't know anything Like that in this Medium until now. Graphically, a Low-poly look is used that perfectly depicts the Surreality of the World. We play Anne Tarver, an FBI agent who gets the Order in the Beginning to conduct an internal Investigation against FBI agent Maria Halperin. Along with her, she takes over the Case of a missing Boy in a small-town Virginia town. I don't want to reveal any more details about the Story that it's really exciting to rhyme these yourself together. Because the Game completely dispenses with Dialogues. The game movie is very reminiscent of David Lynch and Twin Peaks. The Music, recorded by the Prague Philharmonic, regularly knocks one off the Stool. One has to be Aware, however, that you look at more Art here than that you play yourself. As I said, the Work had to thrive a little with me, too. Now, though, I just Feel like I could start it again every Day, discover new Things and want to sink into the weird Mystique and Mood of the Small Town. Virginia < 3

Virginia is a Game that is eig not a Game at all. To go into the many negative Reviews, yes the Game has a big Problem, but at the same time its Strength. The Game itself is a Kind of walking simulator. Looking To press a more you don't have to do. The Adventure lasts between 90-130 minutes per pass. The big Sticking Point why many sagas that this is just not a good Game, iat the Fact that Storytelling doesn't work 100 percent. It's difficult to say what it's eig about. In this Story goes. Overall, it's about an FBI agent to clear up a Case, but the longer you play, the more surreal and twisted the whole one becomes. This is where the Problem lies, the Game thinks too little about making the shown for the Player to somehow make binding. Hardly anyone will have understood what it was. went and that's kind of weird. Clearly Games are what you think about in the Aftermath are a great Thing in itself, but here there is simply no exact Picture and this Ahaeffect is missing. The Spoiel sit at it eig. So great. The Graphics are beautiful and he Sound Tract mega well integrated into the Action and gives some Goosebumps to emerge. The Gameplay consists only of Running but by fast Jumps it feels somehow more fluid and packed. These are also not disruptive because they have been perfectly integrated into the Gameplay. All of This makes the Game icy. A great and relaxing Experience. The Problem of Storytelling, however, is something that has simply not been solved well and is discarding so much potential. Trzdm I had vielo fun playing and enjoyed the Time and can recommend the Game for runtekrom and switched-off real. But If you really want to understand the Story, because I think it's hurry. Mega good is, be warned, you have to put a little more Time into it, because just so the Game doesn't end there. There are simply too many Questions left unanswered for that.
