Michael McCann
Michael McCann is a Canadian composer for video games, television and movies.
Career
McCann has been releasing music since the late 90s. In 2005 he started working in the video game industry. The first project in which he was the main composer was 2006 stealth-action Splinter Cell: Double Agent. After this game, for some time he was primarily working on music for TV shows and commercials. He returned in the industry with the release of 2011 Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The game was well-received for various aspects, including sound design and soundtrack for which McCann was nominated for several game awards, and won two of them.
Style
McCann is known for his versatility. His works include elements from many different genres from ambient and post-rock to neo-classical and drum n’ bass. Many of his soundtracks mix the sound of the full orchestra with ethnic motives and contemporary electronic sound.
