199X
About
In 199X, you control Clara. That's the problem.
The doctors say she's delusional, but you both know that can't be true. The two of you need to explore Delilah, the town where Clara lives. You need to navigate her messy, personal relationships. Most of all, you need to find a cure. And beat the game.
199X is a 2-3 hour narrative adventure, split into seven playable days. It is written by Evan Tognotti, and features a full-length original soundtrack from acoustic weirdo Kearney.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"199X advertises itself as a 'game without mechanics,' which is probably because it is another crappy Steam Greenlight game made in RPG Maker. It is a 'lightly interactive' game (aka players basically press the arrow keys) and features a whooping one protagonist. Again, this is because this is a horrible excuse for a 'game' made using a horrible excuse for a 'game engine.' Not only that, but the developer of this game has the utter gall to charge for this couple hour 'interactive experience.' Although is (sic) is only $2 US, it is still disgusting people are being charged for this crap." - Lusipurr.com
"There is also quite a bit of social justice in this game which makes parts feel a little bit like a (sic) 'educational game' or propaganda... don't expect any male characters to have any depth or role in the plot, it's all about the ladies and the male characters are there for window dressing." - A Steam reviewer

"What is it all About?"
199X is a very different RPG than you would expect, because our Protagonist (Clara) talks to us personally and knows that she is controlled by us, even though she has completely her own Thoughts.
[+] ◯ individual RPG idea ◯ funny allusion/dialogues ◯ good Price [-] ◯ far too long walkways ◯ you Have to click on an unnecessary lot of control so that you can get further in the Story Process. However, there is no Possibility left for one's own Decision. You have to interact with each Item before you can get any further in the story process.
Reminds something of ' A Bird Story '-even has quite funny Moments, but is not quite as engaging from the Atmosphere and The Fun Factor is diminished by the Interaction of each Object (before you can eventually get further).

Actually, I didn't want to play RPG Maker games for a While, the flooding STEAM almost and then to filter WHICH one is interesting and which one should not play is difficult without End. But somehow the Story had interested me.
You play a Girl, wake up in the Hospital and you don't really know what exactly happened. On top of that, you can't move and hear you're right. We are basically the Voice that the Girl hears and are also allowed to control her and occasionally give it to our Mustard to what is happening. So The Game is more likely to guide us and say and exactly what to do. This makes it less a Game than an intercosive Story, where we have little Decision-making Freedom, except that we can influence the Protagonist from time to time.
What many complain I found quite positive. If Stories are well done, then I like to let myself be led like this, because a good Game is not only the Tatsacje that you can do as much as possible yourself. A good Game should first of all be able to convince you of the Story and that creates In 1997 quite excellently.
But there are also a few Things that I didn't think were so great. For Example, the Resolution. When you have a big Monitor or even play on TV, it looks terrible. You also have no Options to change this. The Developer himself says he also has no Way of doing that, that would not give the Software. But It offers a fair gesture to those who really don't like to exchange the Game.
You shouldn't exchange the Game, though, because otherwise you miss a really good Story that's full of Humor and at the same time comes across in a kind of oppressive way. I especially thought all the sexual Innuendo was well done, that kind of gave the Game what grown-up, I found very successful.
Okay, I want to be honest. You don't have a Game here that would get a Rating of over ninety percent, but for the Price of less than 2 EUROS it is highly recommended. The price/performance is right, but it is best to take a look at it yourself, you can't do much wrong. Enjoy playing.
