About

8BitBoy is an indie platformer developed by AwesomeBlade.

Plot

8BitBoy is unemployed, lonely, and does not know what to do with his life. He decided to start up his old and trusty eight-bit console to remember the good times he had when he was just a little kid, but when he puts in the cartridge, 8BitBoy gets sucked into the game's world.

Gameplay

8BitBoy is an homage to the old NES-era games (mainly platformers). It is heavily inspired by titles like Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, and Mega Man, featuring numerous game designing elements present in these games.

While still being an eighties classic platformer, the developers made several additions to the basic gameplay formula. The players still have to get to the end of the level untouched, as any contact with the enemies will kill them and reset the level back to the beginning. The enemies are killed by jumping on top of their heads. This applies to every enemy present in the game, either a basic sentry or the final boss. The players can also pick up a special power-up that will allow them to shoot projectiles that ricochet off the walls, but this power-up can be used only for a limited amount of time.

There are five worlds present in the game with each world consisting of 10 levels and featuring its own art style and environment.

Very good Game for in between. Graphically and sogly very retro and is reminiscent of one by Gameplay to Mario and other good 2D Jump and runs. There are 5 Worlds to play at 2 Difficulty levels, the Controls are very simple and the Game can be played with Keyboard and Gamepad (xbox One Controller Tested). In the Sale, the Game is definitely worth it and for Jump and Run Fans is probably even worth a Full Price Purchase

So rarely have I filled myself so annoyed at a jump and run. It's not hard, but for that every tile counts, combined with a not very accurate control. But really annoying with having to live by the level and the bosskfights have an introlong length of felt years. The goodies and taler don't spur on as they haven't worth any to little for the game itself. The highscore does not make a right sense either, since only the length of stay is "measured." Well, the graphics appeal to me and I take away his heartbreak from the developer. If he updates it, I might look back in.

Our video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP8xCtUDNws&ab_channel=Hasenmafia 8BitBoy Is fun for a few Hours ... Probably because the Introduction with us old Hands evokes one or the other beautiful Memory. But the weak Gameplay, in which neither ambition nor the feel to the flow, nor anything positive, quickly ensures that you lose Interest in the Game (which explains why hardly any of those who rated the Game positively played it for more than 3 Hours ...). Therefore, perhaps you should take a closer look before accessing the Game. More on this in the Video Eviev, where a Let's Play of us is linked again, with which you can get a more detailed Impression.

A classic Platformer game! It's exactly what I expected. The Graphics are pleasantly colorful, without which you get Eye Cancer;-) The Controls are optimal (I presupposed the controller here), the Sound also impresses well and is reminiscent of the old Days, where JnR was not only a Graphic Battle, but needed a little Skill. Unfortunately, no Steam achievements have yet been implemented. Also, there is currently no Option to adjust the Control (i.e. Fire, jumping, Changing races). However, it is probably being worked on here. Also, after each Reboot of the Game, the Controls automatically bounce back to "Keyboard," even though I played with a "Joypad" Last. PRO: * Beautiful Retro * Great Sound * Pleasant Control * Two Modis, for Normal and ' Better ' player CON: * Control (yet) Unadjustable * Control unit is not saved * No Steam Achievements Since the CON's will probably be fixed soon And the Game will continue in the Post-processing stands (so there are Patches again and again), I'm sure the CON's will soon become non-existent. That is why a clear Recommendation here.
