About

Story
In the year 2049, mechanized robots commonly called GEAR were developed for military application. Since then, their versatile functionality has led them to not only become commonplace in commercial use, but also spawned an entire sports entertainment industry. The prevalent use and popularity of GEARs has created a new academic field known as “Cenorobotics”.

Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the protagonist finds himself transferring to ACE Academy, a premier school for Cenorobotics studies in Japan. He struggles to find a team willing to accept him and his outdated “American” GEAR to compete in the intramural tournament. When compared to the sleek, robust, and advanced technologies of the Japanese counterparts, his search feels utterly hopeless. That is, until he finds a group of pilots just desperate enough for another member. This is where your story begins.

ACE Academy reviews and comments

In ACE Academy you take on the Role of a young Man who moves with his Sister to Japan. The reason for the Move is that the Parents of the two have died. The Protagonist Is a GEAR pilot (GEAR = Combat Robot) and now has to find his way around the ACE Academy. I have now played some VNs based on Agency etc and really have to say that ACE Academy is one of my new Favorites. The Story isn't the best you've ever heard and the Settings often repeat, but ACE Academy scores mostly for its Wit and CHARACTERS, as well as their evolution. ACE Academy has really made me laugh more often and the Characters are quite well written and all a little more profound than seems to make it seem at first. The focus in the Game is clearly on dating simulation. Here you can choose between 4 different Ladies. You can also develop a Bro-mance;). The Game has an English Synchro that goes absolutely fine, just considering that Synchros in VNs are not taken for granted. The Backstory seems a bit forced and, in my Opinion, is not necessarily necessary, but it doesn't bother either. The End I personally found a bit too simply knitted and I might have been happy about a little Glimpse into the Future of the Characters (this one is missing), but nevertheless I rarely enjoyed myself at a UN. Was unsure at first whether I should get the Game blind, but did not regret it for a Minute and now;) played through twice.

Early Access Review I'm not normally such a big Fan of Visual Novels, I find them are often too linear and sometimes boring. But at this one, I don't know. It's just crazy fun. I haven't even finished the first two Episodes (which are currently available) and I'm actually very happy with the Scope now. And I haven't noticed any Bugs yet, either. The Speakers are above average, the Drawing is also very nice. On some Corners you just notice the limited Budget, but for me this only removes the Ambitions of the Makers and is not a Loss Of quality. So far, I've had to go through the "Mini-name" Three times, which isn't really demanding, but it doesn't bother big either. Perhaps this will be improved in the Course of Development. What excites me about this Game but also the many Possibilities. It very often offers you the Opportunity to choose an action/To a Person, and you really Feel like that is influencing the Course of the Game. The Answer Options are also great, I often had to laugh out loud. The Game plays with various Clichés and manages to be funny without putting itself in that corner. I'm already looking forward to seeing my Favorite Let's Player take on this Title. So in short, the Game has exceeded almost all my Expectations. Is really a cool Part, and I'm really looking forward to the finished Game. Update 2017: Even the finished Game doesn't disappoint. It's become a really entertaining Title with a good Scope. The Story always proceeds quickly, and one is usually well entertained. I also enjoy the different Routes, to hear alone what the respective Answer Possibilities trigger for the other Characters, it is worth going through game several times, with the skip function you can easily skip already heard. On the Positive side, this Game is not too permissive as some VNs is limited to sexy Characters. Even though there are a few Hints (mostly very humorous), finding a friend is not necessarily the Goal of the Game. Still full Buy Recommendation.
