This expansion pack to 2009's ARMA 2 features a standalone plot and setting and does not require installing the original game. Operation Arrowhead is set in an alternative 2012 in Takistan, a made-up mountainous Asian country reminiscent of Afghanistan. The protagonists are the NATO forces consisting of American, Czech and German military. Their mission is to overthrow the corrupt regime of colonel Muhammad Aziz and to protect neighboring (equally fictional) Karzeghistan from a Tatkistani invasion. The player will lead them through a series of battles in the desert, highland, and urban environment. At the various stages of the game, the player will control not only foot soldiers but also tanks and helicopters.
Operation Arrowhead adds certain new features to ARMA 2 gameplay. The expansion introduces additional vehicles and weapons, enhanced infrared vision, removable backpacks, and drones that can also be controlled by the player. There are also DLCs that allow you to add British soldiers and a private military company. The game is considered quite hardcore by its difficulty, even for experienced gamers, so it is recommended to complete a tutorial stage at the beginning.

Sooo after over 400 Hours ArmA 2 I would now also like to give a review ArmA 2 is in many Terms a good Game (Simulator) for people who can work very well in the Team. My 400 Hours largely refer to the Mod Wasteland, for which you really need a lot of Teamwork. Unfortunately, I find it a great pity that many People only buy ArmA to play DayZ. Hope that with the Beginning of DayZ Standalone and ArmA 3 there will be more players on both Sids (ArmA 3 and 2). I myself find the ArmA 3 In contrast to ArmA 2 to be exactly like comparing Tetris to Battelfield 4. Both games have nothing to do with each Other in many Respects (Auser the Name ArmA). Hope that there will be even more Content in ArmA 3 otherwise it would be a really big Deception. But now to the Pro and Contra Of ArmA 2. Pro:-Many Varied Mods such as Wasteland or Takistan Life-Engine is well implemented for a Game of this Time-By the Mod ACRE and ACE the best Military Simulator-Many Jets, cars, Helis etc.
-And of course the Mod DayZ Kontra:-Many unnecessary bugs-Too many Hackers through weak cheat protection (BattleEye)-Baseless Global Bans from BattleEye, which makes playing in Multiplayer impossible!
-In some Situations very violent FPS frops slebst with my GTX 690:/
Verdict: Despite some Bugs, I Think it's the Best military Simulator of the current Era. Personally, I prefer to play it even more than ArmA 3 because it has too little Content. Anyone hoping for a good mature Simulator in Military Style will not be mistaken at ArmA 2! (Despite funny Bugs:D) I can only recommend the Game to Purchase!

Whether DayZ, Wasteland, Life, Co-Op or other Mods & Missions, this Game has an incredible community that still provides new Content & Fun after Years, my Playing Hours don't lie.
In my Opinion, even the far better & rounder DayZ, countless Submods (Epoch, Overwatch/-poch, many different Maps, etc) which are constantly being developed, Editor, hundreds of Servers and many more Possibilities.
