When a professor finds a way to beat the curse of mortality, but it only seems to work on very specific cases, none human exept himself

 He lives the ages bearing the lives of everyone who were given the start of the procedure.

Will he keep going with the hope of eventualy freeing them into a life without age?

Or shall he stop and abandon every promisse made as well as their lives? 

What about the ones who succeeded in the procedure? Should they lose sight of what brought them here? 

And the others, people with no connections.... For now?
