Dark Scavenger reviews and comments

A real nuggo! Under his tunes from a little old-fashioned adventure game, dark scavenger hides incredible qualities. First, the story: lost in space for some obscure reason, you are rescued by a spaceship to the crew heteroclite and for the least... bizarre! A undead engineer, an alien disguised as a TV presenter completely siphoned (and who could be Lorne's brother in the Angel series) and a third, devoid of mouth but endowed with an incomparable talent for MIME (well aided in it by his multiple eyes and arms). Accompanied by your little comrades, you dock the first planet in sight to recover enough to fill the reservoir of your space nut shell. You then find yourself on Dellida, a medieval world shaken by a bloody war between four of its pening species: the Dafuun, great blue monkeys followers of the pugilate; the Escella, genius craftsmen with a pronounced taste for suicide; Vindil, barbarian humans and... barbarians and finally the Darse, Ninja batracians in perpetual quest for revenge. All this little world is joyfully killing each other as you cross levels, challenging, solving puzzles and fighting all sorts of colorful enemies to recover many loot. This brings us to the substantive marrow of this game, its golden heart, its spark of genius: the craft! The principle is as follows: when you collect a loot, you can choose to entrust it to one of your fellow scavengers: Kamaho, the undead, will make you weapons; Falsen, the mad alien, will turn them into consumables; Finally, gazer, the centimane MIME, will give you the ability to summon allies. If this system looks a bit capilotracted aboard the ship, it is on the ground that it takes all its flavor. Indeed, every confrontation, every challenge and every Riddle, can be (and often must) solved through objects or allies. Need to climb a steep wall? A long object or a rope will avoid you to flatthe face on the floor. An enemy feels lonely? Give him a furry companion or a pretty barbarian to make her smile! A NPC hides, frightened, under a bed? A pretty shiny piece will probably be right in its terror and encourage it to get out of there. Thus, every weapon, object and ally has the power to help you in one situation or another, in addition to being invaluable support in the fighting... most of the time. Last part, the graphics, if they are in 2D, are very pretty, finely drawn by expert brushes and enjoy an imagination as overflowing as that of the scriptwriters. You will be amazed by seeing all the gestures, movements and situations that can be simulated by growing up, returning, moving a simple image! That the furious fools of the 3D take the seed! Only shadow on the Board, the game is (for now) available only in English and its flowered language (at least) is sometimes difficult to understand, especially when one realizes that all the intricacies in the texts of the game and the description of the objects and allies are of great importance. If you are not very good in English, keep a dictionary next to you. In conclusion, dark scavenger is a true indie Pearl, which will contain without weakening all the lovers of the role-play and books of which you are the hero. The living proof that one can give an excellent playing experience with a pencil, a few leaves and brushes (and a lot of talent!). For such a modest sum (5euros excluding promotion period), this is a game not to be missed!
