Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game reviews and comments

I had bought this game on GG, but took it on sale on steam for reasons of convenience, which explains the low apparent playing time. One could call it the best improvements for hearts of iron 2, all set in a standalone. Everything has been revised and improved: refuelling, diplomacy, brigades... while making it more immersive, yet without any additional difficulty. One, therefore, has a definitive product, always in fact updated by its creators, which can only be compared to its less fortunate rival, arsenal of democracy. Less fortunate in the sense that darkest hour still manages to attract the community of modeurs, who have developed (and still develop) dozens of projects. More than 12 years after its release, do you know many games that mobilize an active community? Well, that's proof you're holding a nugget. And, indeed, this HOI2 supervitamin is one, and can safely be mistaken to be considered the best of the whole series. Not the most beautiful, it's true, but the best for a Wargamer and a history lover. Recommend without any reservation or limitation, unless you fear the sleepless nights ^^

Darkest Hour is, in my Opinion, the Best Game in the Hearts of Iron franchise. Similar to all other HoI parts, you first have to invest a lot of Time in the Game to find out the different Possibilities in the game and a lot more Time to master them in order to be able to Avoid any Danger or any scenario. To be prepared. Nation of Nation plays fundamentally differently, due to different Preconditions such as Industrial Strength, Allies, Basic Military Strength and Modernization,... And so on. It is a lot of Fun to play the different Nations and to reenact history in the first And second world war respectively, or to reinvent it. What if? -Is the right Question here, because anything is possible, provided the Player plans his Actions very precisely and equips himself according to his Plan against the Enemies he will set himself. Is there a bitter Naval War with the German Reich for the supremacy of the North Sea? Or do you set up a small Army of Skydivers to capture England from the Air? Can the German Reich in The West of Europe be granted as a Soviet and would you rather take care of securing its own Share of the Asian Continent in the War between China and Japan? Or do you, as an American, take a seemingly unthinkable course and become An ally of the Axis powers? Whatever you want to do, whatever History you want to write,.. The Game leaves you open to all Possibilities to act the way you want. From me, a definitive Buy recommendation, for Lovers of great Strategy, who hours after Hours want their Country to tune in to their political and belligerent Strategy. Finally, I would like to say that the Game is still receiving new Updates and beta patches today, even though the Game was released back in 2011. You rarely find better Community support.
