PLEASE READ THE KNOWN ISSUES THREAD BEFORE BUYING
Darkwood provides a new perspective on survival horror.
Scavenge and explore the rich, ever-changing free-roam world by day, then hunker down in your hideout and pray for the morning light.
Survival horror from a top-down perspective that is terrifying to play.
No hand holding or quest markers. Test your skills and figure things out on your own!
By day explore the randomly generated, ever-sinister woods, scavenge for materials, craft weapons and discover new secrets.
By night find shelter, barricade, set up traps and hide or defend yourself from the horrors that lurk in the dark.
Gain skills and perks by extracting a strange essence from mutated fauna and flora and injecting it into your bloodstream. Watch out for unexpected consequences…
Make decisions that impact the world of Darkwood, its inhabitants and the story you experience.
Meet eerie characters, learn their stories and decide their fate. And remember - don’t trust anyone.
As nights go by, the lines between reality and nightmarish fantasies begin to blur. Are you ready to step into Darkwood?

Early Access Review It's so incredibly awesome. A Horror rouge-like RPG can only get good and it's become incredible. The Atmossphere captivates eiinen, the Search for Raw Material to The death requires a lot of Nerves and the Opponents who come at Night can drive you mad. My Sensation: Buy it and play it!

Early Access Review I can only say one thing ... Mega Class. While It's very difficult and I die quite often, the fun Of the Game just doesn't go lost. The Map is not always set up the same in a new Game. You can hide your Shelter and much more. Graphically and also In terms of Content, it can become the better "Don'T star" as long as the Developers stay on the Ball. Survival Horror Pur At a 10 Points Scale, Darkwood Gets 8/10 From Me

Early Access Review @ Narmherad: Are you trollin? - It's early access dude. --- I recomment the game. It has an awesome atmosphere and some oldschool gameplay mechanics. The story is creepy and everything seems very strange, and yes, it's also very hard to play. I'd even say it's a hardcore survival. Furthermore: I've heard it'll be more balanced soon, it's early access, so don't expect a finished, and bug-free game. Just great, if you like what you see & hear in the videos, buy it.

Can Horror work in the Top-Down Perspective? Edeany, and Darkwood proves that. In this surreal World, the Player moves through a procedurally generated world, trying to survive in the Style of a typical Survival game. The Horror Aspect works amazingly well. Again and again there are Moments when you are tied to the Seat as a Player. If you are Interested, just watch the Trailers for the Game. These are as atmospheric as the actual Game. A small beautiful Indieperle, which I can only recommend.

Darkwood is probably by Far one of the Games that really captivated me as a Horror Game. A very high Tension is built up, especially by the Soundscape, the limited Viewing Area (no All-round View), the Shadow play and the History. The Story and Characters in the Game, are very peculiar and reminiscent of Tales of H.P. Lovecraft or a Nightmare. Dense Forests and Roots overgrow the land and block the Path to Freedom. By Day you try to find a Way out and use objects to secure your Hiding Place. At Night, you seek Shelter from the Creatures and Shadows that haunt you. As a Defense, an Axe, Shovel, Molotov cocktails and later firearms are Available. But there are also Ways to set Enemies Traps, Cause gasoline Cutter to explode and move to protect, in the Light of the Lamps. Clear Buy recommendation and you should play the Game with Headphones!
