About

The year is 21XX. A mysterious alien force, known only as "Purple Erosion", has taken over the Moon! From the captured lunar base, alien UFOs begin their invasion of Earth! Using your advanced space fighter, you must repel the alien invasion, beat them back through space, and finally recapture the Moon to end the alien menace once and for all!

Enjoy a superb arcade shoot 'em up with this new classic from Qute. ESCHATOS combines modern features and graphics with classic gameplay to create a game with timeless appeal and massive fun factor.

Key Features:
  • Multiple game modes and enjoyable difficulty settings for all levels of player skill. Choose from Original, Advanced, or Time Attack modes.
  • Intuitive and fun scoring system with a high skill ceiling! Scramble to wipe out the enemy waves as quickly as possible in Original mode, manage risk and reward in the challenging Advanced mode, and outrun the time limit in Time Attack mode. High score chasers are welcome!
  • Multiple weapons add strategic depth. The Front Shot is powerful, but has a limited firing angle. The Wide Shot can hit many enemies, but has short range. Finally, the Shield can inflict heavy damage and deflect bullets - but at perilously close range! Utilize all of them to get the best results, and don't let the enemies get away!
  • The dynamic camera system creates a sense of exhilarating speed as you explore 5 beautiful stages, including temple ruins, Earth's orbit, and the alien moon base.
  • Encounter massive bosses. Battle screen-filling UFOs and other strange enemies!
  • Check out the top players on the online leaderboards, or share your best run with a friend using the downloadable replay system!
  • Turn up the volume and enjoy a phenomenal retro-synth soundtrack composed by Yousuke Yasui!

ESCHATOS reviews and comments

The Space Invaders of the 21ST century. The best of more than 3 decades of history of the genre (almost 4 already), in its perspective mother, the vertical. A frantic, adenalínico and eccentric ride through the cosmos, having to defend the Land from a massive surge of angry aliens. The simplest, carried in the most lethal possible way. Great graphics, which, despite what they say, are deeper and elaborate than simple polygons and textures stale, the whole radiates life, camera games make this shmup looks 10 times faster than anyone. The Music, a diamond. FM Tracks, they will remember the years 90 everywhere. What a piece of OST. Constant references to the World doujin Japanese (Judgement Silversword, Alltynex...), and tributes playable to consecrated companies (Taito, Treasure, Hudson Soft...). Jugablemente is the repear. A progressive journey to the enemy nucleus, with a scoring and ranking system that absorbs the best of the Star Soldier Caravan, updated to the new Times, and with a lot of different modes and ways of playing. What do you expect to try one of the best Shmups of the genre and history?

The best shmup appeared in the last 5 years?! This may be excessive in the eyes of some but it is in any case the title that will have me the most hung among the whole wave of Jap shmups went out at the time on the XBOX 360. Actually I first knew Eschatos in its original version on console, a game that I know so very well to have it in addition 1CC (in original normal at least!). If at the beginning graphically one is rather surprised by the minimalism of its graphics, one understands quickly that this defect appearing and in truth a force of the game both the legibility is perfect in addition to confer a special and unique aura! The music puts the mood and is very catchy (sweep record inside!) but what makes this game absolutely awesome, catchy and extremely addictive is the way it was built! The game is built in wave that enchaine without dead time from start to finish, served by a good dynamic staging, the difficulty is extremely well calibrated whatever the mode of games (and the difficulty on 4 degrees) and the waves (placement and number of enemies , variety of traps etc.) are also extremely well calibrated. The great strength of Eschatos is clearly its level and game design, its playability and its deliciously arcade atmosphere tinted of retro while being unique. It is necessary to vary between a flare shot or a concentrated shot, we also have a shield that is a ball forming in the front of the ship and protecting only this part! The waves are designed to find the best way to use its equipment and we are quickly caught up in the game to find the most efficient way to pass the levels to increase its point multiplier! The game modes, many and varying very well the gameplay will eventually finish you! Yes Eschatos may not be the sexiest shmups visually at first glance... but its game and level design, its playability, its extremely well-screwed sizing make it to my eyes the most fantastic shmup of its generation! Proof, I'm so fan of this title that I decided to take it back on my PC! ESCHATOS is a huge killing!
