About

Be part of a new Fear Effect adventure with Fear Effect Sedna, a new game in the classic series made popular on the original PlayStation console. With a whole new story, and shifting to a pausable real-time tactical action style, players will be able to control the team strategically and tackle enemies and puzzles alike.

Fear Effect Sedna is set four years after the events of the original Fear Effect game, and things have changed for the team. Hana, freed from the Triad, lives with Rain in Hong Kong and works as an occasional mercenary, while Deke has grown apart from them since Glas returned to the US.

Hana accepts a small mission for a shadowy organization asking for her services. Her target: a mysterious ancient statuette held by the Chinese ambassador in France. She sees it as a good opportunity to visit her birthplace... But this 'easy' mission is about to lead Hana to something way bigger than she expected.

Meanwhile Glas is approached by a client who catches his attention enough that he soon sets out for Greenland.

How will these events bring the old team back together?

Fear Effect Sedna is dedicated to recreating the atmosphere and characters from the original Fear Effect. However, while there are familiar aspects of the game to previous incarnations of the franchise, you'll find yourself immersed in a completely unique and new world with Fear Effect Sedna - one that will appeal to fans both old and new.

Fear Effect Sedna Demo reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from French
This evaluation is written by a player who did not play the first fear effect. I tested the demo with an XBOX one controller. As a whole, the demo is really nice. There is a good atmosphere, combat, puzzles, cutscenes... In short, the ingredients that are needed for a good game. After that, there are still several things to see to make the whole game, a game that will appeal to the majority of players. The launch of the demo clearly says that a lot of things will change in the final version, so we leave confident about things to review. + The demo features very beautiful cinematics, smooth animation, good lip coordination, beautiful postures, etc. + the gameplay in isometric view is a good choice I find. + The gameplay seems correct in all and the three puzzles available really nice! -The big black voids during indoor missions are really annoying, the passage on the roof is very beautiful with the rain and all the scenery around, but it would be really good to fill the black indoors by other things: rooms not accessible , a colorful and dynamic background, anything, but something other than an empty black that creates discomfort. -Combat side now, we should make the combat phases more dynamic and perhaps revise the firing system: it is not easy to change targets during the fights and it would be practical for the enemies approaching the character. -Infiltration mode, although it is a good idea, is very slow: so it would be nice to be able to ride even when crouching, to reach enemies a little faster. -Another important and missing gameplay element: the Sprint! In some passages, we would really like to go faster, make the gameplay smoother, but the characters do not sprout, and it is clearly a pity... I sincerely hope that this will be added in the final version. The game is for the moment only a demo, but I sincerely hope that there will be more options in the final version. Fortunately I was able to use the Setup to put the game to the right size in Windows 10, otherwise I could not have benefited from the maximum graphics capabilities of the engine. It would also be interesting to add a zoom/de-zoom option to the character, with the isometric view, that would be a big plus! So finally: Yes, I recommend the demo, but hoping that these positive points will be taken into account by the team. With this demo, you have the opportunity to receive constructive opinions (not all, we agree...) of different types of players (fans or not), and I sincerely hope that you will use this asset to take into account the most relevant remarks and correct them. Otherwise, the demo would not have been useful to anyone and the game will reveal a big disappointment. :(
