Foolish Tarot

Story

The Fool adventures through the kingdom fighting the monarchy, using the tarot cards from another dimension to get revenge. The cards make the fool stronger, using their power to buff himself to win fights.  On his quest you meet the devil and death and travel through fall and winter landscapes. 

Gameplay

After exploring the 2D top down world the Fool gets into fights and using the power of otherworldly memes he buffs his physical or magical damage or gets a physical or magical shield. The buffing cards cost energy, so the player has to manage whats most important.

WASD Tile-based movement or arrow keys

Walk into enemy to start battle

Card battle

Drag and drop your buff cards onto the fool, then press the attack button

Hover over a card to see effects and costs

Game Background

This game was developed for the htk-academy game jam with the theme "tarot" in about 4 days. We were teams of 6 but one member got really sick in the middle of production so we achieved less than we planned. It was still a fun learning experience where we all added our own twist to these tarot cards.
