Gathering Glow

Context:

Protect and serve your queen from enemies coming from all sectors.  But, your time is limited.  Collect energy spheres from fallen enemies to either replenish your life or accumulate them in increasing size to offer it to the queen.  The more you collect, the bigger the offering, but your life will be refilled the same way regardless of the size of your offering.

Fear not, for your queen, using the energy you provided, can revive you should you fall.  Do note, however, that the cost will increase with each consecutive revival.

Above all, do not let the queen be damaged by the invaders.  If hit enough times, the queen will succumb to eternal slumber, and your end shall also be eternal.  Best of luck to you.

Controls:

WASD to move, IJKL, U to recover using the energy you've acquired, and R to revive should you fall.
Space to pause, and Q to go back to the title screen while paused.

Dev Note:

I had a goal to create a product of this kind during the Summer of 2018, but I certainly did not come out unscathed.  I had another project that had to be scrapped in the middle of the Summer in favor of this one, but even then, it turned out that I only had about six weeks left until the Summer was over, and it was supposed to have released in five weeks.  Not helping matters was that I did not work on this even remotely full-time.  I only worked on this on and off throughout those six weeks, with special emphasis on the on and off part.  Still, I am glad of at least some parts of this that turned out well, and hope to move on to, if not bigger things, then certainly better things, in the future.
