About

Guacamelee! Gold Edition is the enhanced edition of Guacamelee! that features all downloadable content for the original game and supports Steam Workshop to create and share custom character skins. In its core Guacamelee! is a 2D Metroidvania with platforming and brawling elements.
Guacamelee! is set in an open Mexico-stylized world, full of stereotypes and cultural references. You take on the role of an ordinary farmer named Juan Aguacate. Killed by an evil skeleton, you are brought back to life to save your love interest. The game follows the rules of the Metroidvania genre but has a twist: as you are revived, during your adventures you can switch between the land of the dead and the world of the living.
Aside from that Guacamelee! is focused on exploration and hand-to-hand fights. While progressing through the story, you get new abilities such as movement upgrades and the necessity to match colors of your attacks and certain obstacles.

Guacamelee! Gold Edition reviews and comments

I acquired the Game for very little Money back then via Humblebundle and to be honest I put it on Hold again after a few Minutes. Was quite funny, but the Spark hasn't jumped over so quickly, though the Characters have been sympathetic, the Music stirring and the Graphic Style fitting. But I'm also usually more of an adventure fan, which is why this is hardly surprising. BUT After touching the Game again a few Days ago, the Pull caught me full and even though I play with Keyboard and Mouse, I was able to play the Game. The Game requires a lot of Reaction and Dexterity from the Player as well as quick Reflexes-but it also practices exactly this by forcing the Player to keep overgrowing and applying the new Moves. For Casual Players in this Genre (like me), it is still important to bring a good Dose of Patience. But If you have slowly mastered the heavier Passages, you want more and more and try to face more and more Challenges. It was Precisely this Appeal that swept me along. I wanted to get better and I wanted to create even more. The Story, when you get clear with the Final Opponents, ends in about 6-10 Hours, but there's a lot more to do and that increases the Appeal and leads to rejoining the World of Guacamelee. Guacamelee may be a little Game, but once you succumbed to the Allure of the Game, it's a true Time Swallowing and it's extremely addictive. The Atmosphere leads you straight to Mexico, the Combat System is quickly learned but difficult to master, the Tasks are numerous and sometimes extremely complex. So You really get a lot here for the Money, which is why I can recommend it uninscribed for People who have enough Time and Patience to play it.

4/10 Recommended Guacamelee! Gold Edition is built into a 2D Platform/Jump ' n ' Run according to the Metroidvania Principle. You control Juan the Luchador (from the Spanish luchar, fight), and are defeated with this similar to other Games like Mario or Sonic jumps from one Platform to the next, and Opponents. The Game offers a local Two-player Mode (that is, both Players must sit on a PC), and is controlled with either the Keyboard or a Controller. They slip into the Role Of Juan, a Mexican Wrestler who must save the President's Daughter from an undead Demon. As the Game progresses, You will learn new Skills to open secret Gears in previously visited areas to recover Treasures and even more Skills. In order to defeat Enemies more efficiently, Juan is also allowed to apply these newly discovered Skills against Enemies, and this is where the Problems begin. Juan reacts very closely to the Inputs, but the respective Levels have too heavy a design. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=231679600/In order not to have to die especially Things from the second Opponent of the boss, Players should Memorize quite long Shortcuts, which makes playing impossible after a long Break. Juan can also switch between two Dimensions, but this makes the Gameplay more difficult than it enriches him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9Ts7BDmWeg (Video by DOPPELgameplayVIDEOS on Youtube) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=231675931/Personally, it took me an Hour to get a small Segment of the Tule Tree after the second Boss Fight Climb, only to learn that dimensional Sweeping and jumping up goes even further. The Game has a very good Humor, for example many new Techniques are taught by a magic Goat, but the quite complex Controls, and the extremely heavy jumping Inserts make the Game seem more like Work than Pleasure. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=231676065/Thank you for reading it.

A delightfully entertaining game with a simple story, lots of mexican stuff in it, and simply one of the best platformers ever made. Great bosses, catchy soundtrack, creative mechanics, plus it is cheap.
