There never quite seem to be enough bunny girls in the world, so here is another for you aficionados out there. This 2D sidescrolling exploration platformer follows the adventure of Erina, whose humdrum life as a regular rabbit is turned upside-down when she finds herself in an unknown world and turned into a human (with rabbit ears)!
Along the way she meets the cheerful pink-haired fairy, Ribbon, who mysteriously chooses to stay by Erina’s side.
These unwitting heroes embark together on their quest to restore Erina’s life to normalcy, but who knows what troubles lurk, waiting for them…Rabi-Ribi is a 2D exploration platformer that focuses on non-linear gameplay. There will be hints to guide the player along, but they’re never required to follow them, which allows for much greater freedom to—you guessed it—explore.

Players will play as our protagonist Erina, who focuses on close quarters combat. Ribbon the fairy is the ranged attacker who follows Erina’s lead, indirectly controlled by the player.

Erina may be a little rabbit that was turned into a human, but that doesn’t stop her from being capable of some pretty neat moves.

Both Erina and Ribbon’s abilities can be improved by learning new skills and attacks through collecting items and upgrades that are spread throughout the world.
What trinkets and skills to pick up is up to the player; dare you challenge hard mode without any items?

Rabi-Ribi reviews and comments

Rabi-Ribi is a 2D Platformer From CreSpirit. Translated and published by Sekai Project, this Platformer Appeared in the Retro Look at the end of January 2016. In Rabi-Ribi one slips into the Role of Erina, a recently Made human Bunny, who finds herself in a strange Place and wishes nothing more than to return to her Master. In the process, she gets into very strange Developments, meets quirky Characters and beats her way through the cuddly World on Rabi Rabi Island with a Hammer And a Fairy. Why the former Bunny Is now in Human Form is sometimes one of the Secrets to be discovered. Sounds quirky? ... Is the same. Rabi-Ribi, for all the Scurrility, plays like a typical Metroid-Vania-style 2D action platformer. With Keyboard or Controller, you run, bounce, slip, beat and conjure through an open World and have to get items or Skills to overcome Some Cul-de-sac. In addition, boss opponents keep getting in the Way, the attacking Variants of which need to be learned in order to pass the Battles. The Action, which is told in funny but sometimes somewhat confusing Conversations, does not help you lose the Thread in the process. Items and Abilities that serve progress do not come too quickly at once in a row, but at a pleasant Speed, resulting in a cremakily increasing Learning Curve. There is One Difficulty, however. The genre mix doesn't stop with Metroid-Vania. Some Opponents, mainly Mini-opponents and Final Opponents, have Attacks that can only be described in one Word: Bullet-light. Dodging and positioning Correctly is a necessary Skill to learn and master. But don't Worry, the Game is not too heavy, because the Character not only gets stronger in the Course of his Adventure, but there are also a good Number of Difficulty levels that give even inexperienced Players a nice playing Experience. Keyboard control works just as well as the Control with the Gamepad and is definitely well thought out and implemented. The Whole thing makes for a very soft and direct Feel to the Game. Graphically, while Rabi-Ribi isn't a Game that graphically sets new Generations, it's a somewhat drilled retro game that doesn't ask too much of the Hardware. Nevertheless, the Graphics are visually very beautiful and very appealing for the Pixel Look. The Animations are fluid and nicely designed and everything is very colorful in Its Entirety. Bold Colours and good Contrasts thus form a very chic Overall Picture. However, if you suffer from Epilepsy and have Problems with different Light reflections, you should be extremely careful here, as the colorful Projectiles and many Colors could possibly become a big Problem. However, there is not much In Terms of Hiring Opportunities. So If you want to switch off or switch off special Effects, you'll miss these Settings in the Options menu here. Although certain Special Effects for Performance Improvements can be switched off, they are all switched off. Even when It comes to Resolution selection, the First-release Version Doesn't offer many Possibilities. A lot of Work has also been done in the Sound department. It's not just the retro sounds of the Game that are fitting, well designed and nice to listen to. Even the Soundtrack is definitely more than just worth listening to. Various Variations on Music are partly reminiscent of Visual novels and partly of Games like many Songs from Unreal. The Quality is pretty excellent. Thus, Rabi-Ribi not only scores with good sound design, but also with a high Quality level. All in All, Rabi-Ribi is a very good 2D platformer for all Ages. So If you're into Bunnys, Nekos, Anime and Action Platformer, you'll get their Money's Worth in This Retro look. However, If you get Tooth decay very quickly at the Sight of sweet things and flight disappears on the Toilet to perform a rectal or oral emergency Evacuation, you should perhaps try your hand at Titles like Axiom Verge.
