Ichigeki 一撃

It's a fighting game where you have to slice before being sliced by your opponent.

The game itself has hitbox and hurtbox mechanics. The attack move is composed by startup frames, active frames and recovery frames.

• Startup frames: The beginning of your move. Your hurtbox go foward and the opponent can hit you. This is called "Counter-poke" in fighting games vocabulary.

• Active frames: When your move has the potential to hit the opponent. The hit itself occurs when the hitbox collide with the opponent's hurtbox.

• Recovery frames: After your active frames have ended, you're punished with recovery frames. The opponent can punish you if you miss your move, because your hurtbox will move forward. This is called "Whiff Punish" in fighting games vocabulary.

Ichigeki doesn't have a defense mechanic implemented. The player have to control his space, preventing the opponent from getting closer.
