About

Northern Canada, 1970. A strange blizzard ravages Atamipek Lake. Step into the shoes of a detective to explore the eerie village, investigate surreal events, and battle the elements to survive. Kona is a chilly, narrative-driven interactive tale you won't soon forget.

"Parabole has created a stunning game of duality, effortlessly blending survivalism with detective work and well-researched history with dying folklore."
- Stephen Turner, Destructoid

"It’s tremendous at creating its distinct atmosphere and then drawing you deeper in. It’s witty, spooky, and achieves an ideal sense of urgency. Weird, clamant and intriguing, this is well worth a look."
- John Walker, Rock, Paper, ShotgunSettingOctober 1970. W. Hamilton, a rich industrialist who owns a hunting manor in Northern Canada, reports several cases of vandalism perpetrated against his property. Unable to find out who dared to commit these acts, Hamilton calls Carl Faubert, a renowned private detective to handle the affair.

In Kona, Carl becomes trapped up in the deep north, engulfed in an unexpected snowstorm, and is unable to find his client —or any other living inhabitant for that matter. The player incarnated detective Faubert, who must shed light on the mysterious events befalling the area.Key Features

Kona reviews and comments

Review for review in english scroll down//ICEWATCH THROUGH THE WOODS I played through the Game after full release on a long Weekend and can only recommend it. It joins my Collection of games a la "Firewatch" and "Through the Woods" with a Touch of "Kholat" (which I never finished playing, though), with Kona in my Eyes being more technically mature and better than "Through the Woods." What is Kona? -Bissel Simulation, bit Adventure/puzzles, bit mystery, bit Horror, bit survival and of course also a little Walking Simulator, although This is rather inappropriate as you are cruising around a lot in an old Pickup, among other things. Driving is Fun and contributes a lot to the Atmosphere: The Visibility is limited, you have no Idea where You have to go and at Night you have to get out to look at the Map in The Spotlight-but it is not exactly harmless outside. What cracks in the Undergrowth? Friend or Foe-or are it just Your own Steps creaking in the Snow or a life-saving Fire ... apropos Fire: Have I taken the Wood Shaft with Me or do I freeze when I reach the next Oven? Thank God My own Footprints help to find the Way back ... Or do I prefer to follow the Wolf Tracks? ;-) I don't say Anything about the Mystery content as I don't want to spoil. Only so much: Sometimes a Polaroid shows more than the naked Eye can see. I could have spent days exploring the Area. Unfortunately, here, too, is the only Harken for me at the Game: The abrupt, somewhat forced Ending. That certainly had its Reasons. I read that there are 3 more games that are set in the Kona universe and I'm very excited about it. Verdict: 9.5/10 Points-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I've played the game after the full release on a long weekend and can only recommend it. It's like "firewatch" and " Through the woods "with a touch of" Kholat "(which I've never finished playing). Kona in my eyes is technically more sophisticated and better than "Through the Woods." What is Kona? -bit of simulation, bit of adventure/mystery, bit mystery, bit horror, bit survival and, of course, a little walking simulator, although you drive around in an old pickup. Driving is fun and contributes much to the mood: The visibility is limited, you have no idea where you have to go and at night you have to get off to look at the map in the spotlight-but it is not dangerous. What there cracking in the undergrowth? Friend or foe-or are it just your own steps that creak in the snow or a life-retarding fire ... apropos fire: Have I taken the wood or am I frozen before I reach the next stove? Thank God my own footsteps help to find the way back ... or will I follow the wolf tracks? ;-) I do not say anything about the mystery, because I do not want to spoil. Only so much: Sometimes a polaroid shows more than the naked eye can see. I could have explored the area for days. Unfortunately, here is the only rake for me in the game: The abrupt, forced somewhat somewhat. This certainly had its reasons. I read that there are still 3 more games that are located in the Kona Universe and I am very excited. Conclusion: 9.5/10 points
