Light of Altair
About
Light of Altair is a sci-fi colony building game with a deep plot. Grow colonies from landing pod to metropolis, while sending off new spaceships to expand your territory to other worlds. You are not alone in space, 8 factions from different parts of the world are all following their own agendas in the solar system; diplomacy and orbital-combat are essential to learn.
Light of Altair is based on a custom built 3D engine that enables easy zooming from galaxies all the way down to individual moons and asteroids covered in the colonies with their glass domes, mines and launch pads. Advanced shader technology is used to add rich details and lighting to surfaces.

This is a strategic casualka (a Stusalka, well!), which struggles to be similar to the standard of 4x strategies.
In General, it is not immediately clear, the first few missions seem to be just a manager of the development of the planets, but with the advent of the possibility of hiring a fleet and the appearance of opponents, everything gets into place. The Main thing-the gameplay addictive (relatively), want to be built in the system on the conscience. The Story of the missions does not shine genius, but quite tolerate.
Colonised that! Colonised it! 7 out of 10:)

Recommend.
This is a Real space economic strategy with some military elements that can be passed (it is not infinite and there is no sandbox mode, which is now rare). The Main gameplay-the development of planets. The Game is well done, sharpened exactly under the passage alone. Events, complexity and scripts are adjusted very correctly. The Interface is intuitive, the routine is almost gone.
One of the few, where you want to repeat some missions and play them differently, until you say to yourself: "Clearly worked out." The Plot is well inscribed in the gameplay. There is no absolute freedom of action, no dynamically generated maps, no complicated dilemmas – and this positively affects the atmosphere, balance and duration of the game. It is like a good book or film: once enough, and further on request.
I Left good memories. Bought to replay.

"Light Of Altair", she is "the Conquerors of the Galaxy"-one of the best games of childhood. After Finding it 5 years later, I bought it right away. I Spit on the lack of discount (during the flight sale), and the lack of Russian localization. I didn't regret it.
Pros: + Music-the best tunes that I have ever heard, perfectly fit into the framework of the game.
+ Gameplay-At first everything is easy and interesting, but soon the difficulty reaches insurmountable heights, but to play from it only more interesting. In addition, the interface is understandable and not confusing, as in other games of this genre.
+ Plot-Very interesting (in my opinion), but the rest consider it weak. It's up to you.
Cons: + Graphics-polygons are not enough, but looks cute, besides what you want from the game, which was done by 2 (!) man?
+ Space battles-everything is ambiguous here... They lack A strategy-you just look at the battle and everything. Personally, I am satisfied with it, but for the rest it is very critical. The Choice is yours.
When I was playing LOA as a kid, I couldn't think of it as an indie game that was made by 2 people. She just amazed my imagination with her gameplay and music, and I always cared about the graphics. I just played and enjoyed. And Now I've finally passed it. In Short, I recommend unequivocally.
