Lumino City is a puzzle-adventure video game developed by State of Play Games and a sequel to 2011 title Lume. Art style and plot The game follows Lumi, a simple girl that lives with her grandad. One day the grandad gets kidnaped, and now she must go to the nearby Lumino City to find him. The game is notable for its paper cut-out art style. While the main character is CGI, all of the environments are crafted by developers using cardboard, paper, wood, and other crafts materials. Gameplay Lumino City is a point-and-click adventure game with heavy emphasis on puzzle solving. The game uses a mouse to control Lumi and interact with objects. Her backpack serves the role of in-game inventory and fits many items required to solve in-game puzzles. The game consists of several levels, each of them usually takes two-to-three screens. Some of them revolve around interacting with Lumino City’s townsfolks that asks Lumi for help in exchange for opening her way to the next level. Most of the game takes place in the city, so houses and streets are natural environments in the game. Aside from solving puzzles, some of which incorporate minigames in the vein of Machinarium or Samorost, some swinging and climbing sections require clicking certain objects at the right time.

We have almost the sensation of touch and feel the paper, the cardboard used for the constructions and to smell the odors of paints of decorations. The artists of State of play takes away us from computer generated images to return us in a reality of material where thing are built. A walk in an imagination centred towards the not violence and the reassurance. The game is enjoyable and visually pleasing. He does not shock the spirit and it is I believe one of its ambitions; to be restful. The city is perceived under various angles as we could see the world as well as the characters. It helps intuitively approach the riddles under various angles. Which enjoyment and which satisfaction to disentangle the intrigues in helper the characters to understand their situation and then to leave the light heart in definitive, a game skillfully builds which proposes an adventure which aims to be simple, with a character and a personality different from what I found generally in point'n ' click games. Luckily I waited for it to be on offer and I pay just over 2, for non intuitive, unfortunately for most things we need the help of the book because some puzzles have no logic. If you play with the iPhone, the reduced screen turns out to be impractical because the touch screen is not precise, better to play with the iPad. The controls could be improved. I did the 4 chapters of the room without problems, with this after some level I got bored because of the inaccurate commands and the illogicity of certain puzzles .. I uninstalled the app.

There are not many games made so well that you can imagine the love that they put into making it. Every detail taken care of in a wonderful way and if you look for information on the internet to understand the way in which this type of graphic and animation was created, you will understand that a very meticulous and not at all simple work has been done. But beyond the beautiful graphic appearance, what moved me was the atmosphere of serenity that transmitted me from beginning to end. Lumino City a world made simplicity and love for small things and playing with it often made me want to live in a world like this. Even the puzzles are not bad at all, since they are not at all obvious and often you have to think a little before getting there. I really hope they will make another one. Just wonderful.
