About

Making History: Calm & the Storm Gold Edition is a turn-based grand strategy classic. Play against the world or join an alliance. Attempt to alter history or replay it. This release includes many game updates, key improvements to strategic and tactical gameplay, and features a new Germany focused scenario: "The Rise of the Reich". In addition to managing the military, players must build, supply and grow a modern industrial base in order to field forces capable of victory. The decision to expand factories, research new weapons or recruit more units is in the hands of the player. War will come and the nation must be prepared.FEATURES
  • Clean, intuitive interface and gameplay make this one of the easiest grand strategy games to learn, and the open nature of the game combined with the ability to play as any one of over 80 nations offer endless replay-ability.

  • Gold Edition adds new military unit properties and gives you the ability to rename units, preset rally points and set way-points for more tactical movement. Regions can upgrade defenses, transportation, and food production simultaneously. Better financial reports let you manage your treasury more easily.

  • Different victory conditions available: Nation, Alliance, or Ideological (Democracy, Communism, Fascism, or Authoritarianism) You can also go for a domination victory and set the percentage of land you need to control to win the game.

  • Ten scenarios included with multiple starting points before and during the war. Plus alternate history and the fantasy scenarios.

  • Research, build and deploy a wide variety of ships, submarines, artillery, infantry, tanks, armored vehicles, fighters and bombers. Also research tactics like maneuver warfare, hedgehog defense and amphibious assaults to give your forces bonuses.

  • Decide how much of your production is used to generate wealth, stockpile arms, build military units, conduct research, or construct more factories.

  • Players control trade, aid, industrial development, infrastructure investments, and a deep field of research.

A cheap and simpler alternative to the complex HoI3 Some positive aspects: 1) A better and simpler management of resources, economy and trade. 2) better and easier infrastructure management (Construction of defenses, transport routes, etc.). 3) The speed of play is much faster, (you will not be 1 month to end a campaign). This is also because it is a turn-based strategy (like Civilization) and not in real time. 4) Each country has its own models/textures of units (airplanes, tanks, infantry, etc.). For example; You're not going to see the French using tanks or English planes. These models are changing with technology. Negative Aspects of the game: diplomacy can be practically summarized in 3 Actions (Form Alliance, declare war, Pact of Non-aggression) The battles (naval, aerial and terrestrial) have very simple mechanics There Are mechanical like those of the espionage and the National decisions/events that this game directly does not have. If you are a Grand Strategy fan you should consider buying It 8/10

Very cool strategist. This is a cross between HOI2 and civilization. It is very Sticky even after the Model 4 racks and other warhummers. The Bottom line is that in addition to the war here you must first rebuild the economy of the country and it is not just naklepat 100500 factories as in the HOIV and all will be norms, it is necessary to maintain a balance between resources and production capacity otherwise you can easily fly to the minus. Of the Pros: 1. Advanced economy, buildings and resources + finances. All must follow 2. Dofiga authentic units, even some Greece and Slovakia immeet full set of their 3D Modelek, not to mention the major 3. Dogren studies, both military, so doctrines, and just new units 4. Quite Takoy norms AI, which sticks well and in the face to give can 5. Glory bow turn, in the real time for all this just do not keep track. 6. Just a bunch of units-Corvette, mortars, deck aviation, mechanized, motorized infantry, tanks of all types, etc. and other Cons 1. The fights Themselves look a bit Figovo, well there is a primitive animation and kind of like reports, but did not like. 2. It Eats a lot of resources, especially when you are going to enlist Alliance 3. Inconvenient transportation by sea and Desanta 4. High Enough defect of occurrence. Do not spank units Anyone can, only a year and a half of the country will die of hunger, cold and impoverishment)) Understanding the economy of the game Pledge of Victory 5. For historicity not here, France can join the alliance with the UNITED states already in 38, the Union of Poland and Czechoslovakia-easily, and in general all peck and create alliances in order not to die) You need to buy WWII Pack so just Making History II, the first part is much simpler and graphonium there Drev Deposits. The Second is very sticky. Overall very Very good
