Most of them (if not all) we're disappointing. Either too expensive or terrible graphics or horrible game-play. I can honestly say that Medieval Battlefields Black Edition has made up for all those disappointments. While It may not offer the huge depth of some of the other strategy games have, it does not need to have that. This game is a good turn based strategy game that is easy to pick up and easy to play. It reminds me of the good old turn based games of the 1990 's and that is a good thing. A lot of the modern ones get so complicated that they don't allow you to have fun anymore. This game has the balance between fun and depth just right. You can play it for a few minutes or for a long time. Perfect game for a short break or a lazy day or evening. Almost perfect, but the music takes away from my experience. For The price you pay for this game I expected way less, so it pleasantly surprised me. Just don't expect a game with tons of depth, but what you get is a fun game instead, that is easy to pick up and enough depth and challenge to keep you playing. What's the verdict? 9 Out of 10! I am fond of knights and the Middle Ages and recently there have been a few medieval strategy games, which I have seen. Most (perhaps all) were a disappointment. Or they were proportionately too expensive, graphically ugly or played terribly. I can honestly say that Medieval Battlefields Black Edition has made a lot of good. The game does not have the depth that some people have, but it doesn't need it at all. This game is a good turn based strategic game, easy to start and play with. It reminds me of the good old turn bases games of the years 90 of the last century and that is just right. Many modern versions are so unnecessarily complicated that fun is fast. This game has just found the balance between depth and play pleasure. You can play it for a few minutes, but also for a longer period. The Perfect game for a short break or a lazy day or evening. Almost Perfect, but the music is doing something for me. Given the asking price of the game, my expectation was a lot less, but the game has surprised me in a good way. Do not Expect a game with infinite depth, but what you get instead is a fun game, with enough depth and challenge to let you keep playing. What is the verdict? 9 Out of 10!
