MindsEye is an action-adventure game that squanders its visual potential in a sea of dull missions and archaic design, delivering bland shootouts and an empty city despite its detailed environments. On stream, the futuristic backdrops may intrigue, but the sleepy pacing and technical bugs quickly kill the vibe, far from the standards of modern hack 'n slash titles.
Compared to GTA, or even linear action games like Uncharted, it desperately lacks polish and soul, earning its reputation as one of the year's big disappointments. At its price (often discounted to 29.99 € instead of 59.99 €), it's best avoided, even for the curious — consoles run it slightly better, but the PC version is a nightmare.
A failed cyberpunk promise that deserved far better than this fiasco.
