About

Neverending Nightmares is a psychological horror game inspired by the developer's actual battle with mental illness. In the game, you take on the role of Thomas who awakens from a terrible nightmare only to find that he is still dreaming. As he descends deeper through the layers of hellish dreamscapes, he must hide from horrifying apparitions and outrun his inner demons. He must discover which of the horrors he encounters are a manifestation of his own psychological state and figure out what reality will be when he finally wakes up.

  • Terrifying nightmare worlds inspired by real life struggles with OCD and depression.
  • Black and white artwork creates a distinctive moody and dark atmosphere.
  • Branching narrative features 3 completely different endings.
  • A dynamic lighting system gives the ever present darkness a character of its own.
  • IGF nominated composer Skyler McGlothlin delivers a haunting and oppressive dark ambient score.

Neverending Nightmares reviews and comments

I think the WTF??? -Moments I've had in this Game I can't count anymore ^^ which is nothing Bad. The Graphic style took getting used to at first, but appealing and the longer I played, the better it fit in my Eyes ... Although I like to gamble Horror games and I'm not particularly awful, there were a few Corners where I actually shrugged together. The musical Accompaniment, which changes slightly again and again, especially towards the End was perfect. Atmospherically unique I found this Game in the stone-dark Room and with Headset ... With 3 h for a Pass, I've probably been a little longer than most. The Story, while a little thin, was well staged, particularly intrigued by The minimalist Attention to detail, like Recurring Images that change again and again or a Doll in two different Rooms, but on screen exactly in the same Place. The Game is quite idiosyncratic, in a rather quiet way slightly disturbing and beautiful to look at. I'm excited for the other Ends:)

WOW, it's been a long time since a Game so captivated me. Especially when it seems so simple at first Glance ... But it's not, no not at all. In Neverending Nightmares, you play Thomas as he lives through his very own Hell. Because whenever he wakes up, he finds himself in the next Nightmare. Betraying more would spoil the Fun considerably. The Game is mainly black-and-white, important Spots are highlighted in color, the Controls are simple and thus allows full Concentration on the Game itself. The Soundtrack is incredibly good, coherent and atmospheric. Due to different Endings, a Replayability is clearly given, since only different Ways, over different Nightmares, lead to different Endings. I am a Fan of horror games, be it indie games, Adventures etc. and I have to say that Neverending Nightmares has convinced me fully, so there is a 100% Buy recommendation from me. But Beware, the Game really has it all in it ... Are You ready to immerse yourself in a World of Nightmares ... Inspired by a real Person who has struggled with his very own inner Demons during game development? Yes? Then close their Eyes, and sleep ... Pleasant Nightmares ...

I learned the following from this Game: Thomas has bear Powers when he can rip the Pulsails out with one Hand. However, You Can wrestle down by a decilated one who can't even use his Hands. Thomas runs through Shards of Glass With bare Feet without affecting his Running Speed. However, Loses the Puff after 30 Seconds of Jogging and 20m Track (don't run that would be faster) and takes the Time to pause even if Danger looms. Thomas puts his Front Paw In the Meat Grinder which produces a Lot of Meat, although the Hand consists mainly of Bones. Thomas is smelly Faul to make his House clean accordingly dusts it in front of him and he swirls dust on which he believes evil people live in the Shadows. Instead of running to the next Tap (which is next to his Bedroom) to quench his Thirst, he takes a Detour of almost a Kilometer in order to drink a glass Of Milk. Accordingly, it also runs out. Thomas buys some Paintings twice. It shows that he has a bad Art taste. Thomas likes comfortable Attractions. Why else does he run around the Area in a Sleepsuit all the Time, even though he knows that it will be a long Trip? Thomas is too weak to carry an Axe and a Candle. You can play it but it's rather just funny because it has little Logic.
