One Broom

NOTE: some people were having problems with the embedded HTML5 version of the game, so I removed it. You can still play HTML5 at the original link hosted at my server (https://www.biyectivo.com/games/one_broom/).

You're a witch and you have One Broom! (note: in case it's not extremely obvious, pun intended, regarding the ScoreSpace 13 limitation :D)

Objective

Your goal is to fly through the hoops, while collecting falling stars and dodging the deadly lightning cast by the Gods!

Controls

You can remap the controls if you wish. By default:

• Left arrow: steer counter-clockwise ("left")
• Right arrow: steer clockwise ("right")
• Up arrow: accelerate
• Down arrow: decelerate

Also, you can use ESC to pause at any time and Space to change the color of the sky.

You can also tweak the sensitivity of acceleration, deceleration and steering via the Main Screen (click on the Sensitivity icon).

Main Screen

As well as remapping controls and tweaking sensitivity, you can customize the name and the colors of your witch! Apart from being cool, your name will be set in stone in the online leaderboards (if you manage to reach the top!)

• To customize the name, click on the name at the left of the Main Screen.
• To customize colors, click on the different links describing parts of the witch at the right of the Main Screen, then click on the corresponding color. You can increase or decrease the V value of the HSV color by using the mouse wheel (up for a brighter tone, down for a darker tone).

Points

The points awarded are as follows:

• Flying through hoops: 1000 times the number of hoops flown through (for example, the first hoop awards you 1000 points, the fifth hoop awards you 5000 points).
• Collecting falling stars: 100 points each.

There is an online leaderboard, try to reach the top!!!

Except the font, everything else was created by me from scratch:

• Engine: Gamemaker Studio 2
• Graphics: Drawn in Aseprite
• Music and sounds: Songs invented and recorded by me using a Roland GP609 piano and a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 interface, as well as Presonus Studio 5. Sounds recorded using the piano instruments as well.
• The leaderboard is a generic online leaderboard I created a while ago in PHP and MySQL. I host it myself at https://biyectivo.com
