Today, we have the opportunity to bring this fantastic game for the first time to the Steam community.About this versionOutcast 1.1 has been recompiled from the original source code and improved to run smoothly on today's computers. The main improvements compared to the original version are: multithreaded voxel renderer for higher performances, software bilinear filtering on polygonal meshes, part of the HUD redesigned to match higher resolutions, new high-resolution sky paintings, new launcher, native support of xbox gamepad, user-friendly controller configuration, a lot of bugs fixed and improved stability.Story
In 2007, the U.S. government successfully sends a probe to an alien world in a parallel universe. As the probe is transmitting video images of the world, an alien life form discovers the probe and damages it, causing a disruptive backlash of energy to form a black hole threatening Earth. Former U.S. Navy SEAL Cutter Slade is given the job of escorting three scientists (William Kauffmann, Anthony Xue and Marion Wolfe) on a mission to this alien world to recover the probe and stop the threat. Arriving in this alien world, Cutter is separated from the other scientists and is hailed by the natives as their messiah, the Ulukai.

Outcast 1.1 reviews and comments

My personal Favorite Game of all Time. When this Game was released, I had just bought a Pentium 450 With a Vodoo 3 3000. Unfortunately, the Vodoo card did not bring anything to this Game, as the voxel graphic was calculated by the CPU. Still, the Game was playable on my Computer. The Reviews didn't make the Game seem too interesting, but since I wanted to explore the Boundaries of my Computer, I installed the Demo of the Game. The Opening Credits alone were incredibly elaborate by the time. The professional Setting, among others the German Voice of Bruce Willis (Manfred Lehmann), was also new and with the ingenious Soundtrack a Feeling of "being in game" was immediately formed, as I have never experienced again since. Today, of course, the Gafian Presentation is completely outdated, but still knows how to convince the Game with its voxel graphics. The Story is still ingeniously told, full of Humor and some unique Storytelling styles. If you've never played it before and Put more Emphasis on a Story and atmosphere and less on contemporary Graphics, you should definitely give this Game a Chance.

Story Man is Cutter Slade. Navy Seal. After an accident attempt to send a Probe to another Planet, a black Hole is opening up on Earth. Now, as Part of a team of four, one is sent off to fix the Probe. When you arrive on the Planet Adelpha, however, you have been separated from the Rest of the Team and lost your Equipment. Now it's up to the Player to find out what happened. Where are the other Team Members. Who has the Equipment and why one is called by all Ulukai. 2. Gameplay The Game plays like other Representatives of the Action Adventure genre such as Risen. You travel an open World, solve lets and Tasks. In most Cases, you are walking in the 5 Worlds. These are clearly different in Appearance. So there are Risi-building Areas with Temple World or even a big City. A Special Feature is the Spache So you really have to learn some Vocabulary to get clear in the Game. Otherwise, the Tasks are very varied. Also, do the job of having Solved tasks have the right Effects. For example, if you have liberated the Shamazaar area, the Enemies will no longer get food and will be shepkinged, which you notice directly, as you need fewer Hits to kill an Enemy. The Dialogues are also a Highlight. Cutter Slade Is spoken by the German Voice of Bruce Willis and this one is perfect. Especially since Cutter is very cynical. This often makes for a good Mood. 3. Graphic/Technique Graphic, the Game has become very old. Although the Water Effects still look chic, textures are mushy and Polygon Counts are very low. But the Game is from 1999. At the Time, I upgraded my PC to do so. Great Is still the orchestral Soundtrack. The Control with Mouse and Keyboard goes well by hand. You can also play the new Version with Gamepad. I didn't test that, though. The Game played stabiel. There was a Stutz, but that was less important to the Game =) 4th conclusion Always still a great Game. Beautiful Tasks, varied Areas and the great Score let you dive deep into the Game. If you can look past the dusty Graphics, you can expect a great Adventure with a surprising Story. PS: The Game features over 150 Achievments. So If you collect some, you can loosely take more than 100 with you during a normal Pass. PPS: I am happy to Answer questions about the Review or Play. PC: Intel i5 2500K @ 4Ghz 16 GB Ram nVidia GF 970 With 349.90 Win 10 64 Bit
