On a day when the sun's light shone particularly generously onto the land below, almost like a blessing for the days to come, 

a member of the de Guzman house was summoned to the side of their soon-to-be-married Kapitan.

Your best friend is about to get married, and you travel across a vast desert in order to deliver his brother to the venue in time.
