About

Rack N Ruin is a fusion of a top-down action adventure game and a classic arcade shooter. Take control of Rack, a maniacal demon wizard with a gleeful appetite for destruction, and embark on a grand adventure across a world filled with magic and wonder. Then transform the once enchanting world into a hellish nightmare. As the world falls deeper into darkness, Rack's power will grow, and the champions of good will rise to face him.

Engage the legions of good in fast hectic combat that gives Rack N Ruin a special action oriented twist unique to the genre. Explore a vast open world filled with treachery and secrets at every turn. Then dive into delicately crafted dungeons, each with distinctive themes and foes to conquer. The entire world of Rack N Ruin is lovingly hand-crafted, and uniquely laid out. Every bit of the game is hand-painted in detailed high definition.

Story
Sitting atop his throne, the dark lord Ruin rules over much of the known universe. His demon lords march outward into the cosmos subjugating planets for Ruin's ever growing demonic empire. One such creature is Rack, a small, sharp tongued, and diminutive demon lord. Rack's talent for destruction and conquest is unmatched amongst Ruin's legions. However, Rack has one issue that infuriates his dark master. He doesn't subjugate, or enslave any world he is sent to conquer. He just blows the planet up, and moves on. Planets turned into asteroid belts make poor slaves, so Ruin is giving Rack one last chance to conquer a world without jump starting the apocalypse, or be cast into the eternal abyss. Will Rack obey his master? Absolutely not!

Nice without more a nice little game taking its roots in Zelda and Touhou. You play a little demon that has to catch up with his master by conquering a planet instead of blowing it up. The puzzles are nice and use the mechanics of the game. They are twisted enough without getting hard to the point of pulling their hair off (even if they are sometimes too long for nothing). The problem comes from the fight, inspired by the danmakus or bullets hell that we all love. The problem is that the main weapon is a simple Pew Pew gun that never improves in the short of the Adventure (Ah if, one can make it split to impact, yay). No double shot, no homing, no piercing, nothing to spice up the thing, except three other relatively inefficient weapons in combat and that mostly serve as jigsaw tools (however very effective). The game being short (6h without rushing in normal mode) with a simple but good story (it's pretty rare to have a game of bad guy to the successful screenplay), it's quite easily forgivable, but remains excessively frustrating, especially since the Hitbox is not frankly intuituve. In short: a Zelda like very proficient (stuff to find, secondary goals, good puzzles) but a bad danmaku for a pretty result... Meh. Consider a promo if the concept really interests you.

Rack, the King of the punchline! Rack N ruin, released in 2015, is an action/adventure game in view of the top where one embodies rack, an overpowered demon, who spends his time destroying planets. Ruin, the King of darkness, is fed up and wants him to conquer rather than destroy. So he sees it on a planet to enslave it. The most:-the gameplay is simple and dynamic. Your character has 4 main weapons, which unlock during the game, and a multitudes of weapons and secondary objects, allowing you to vary the pleasures when to how to kill your enemies. In addition to many fights, you will be confronted with more or less difficult puzzles, more or less long, but nonetheless very interesting. -A nice content, with 8/10h to finish the game, and more than a dozen if you are in the mood to snoop around and search all collectibles objects. The map is large, and consists of 10 zones, which can be modified if you find a kind of door of the underworld (much like oblivion), which will totally change the area, being devastated by the demons who come out and destroy everything in their passage. This door will also allow you to travel between each zone, and restore your life and mana. -The story is nice. Controlling a being of evil is always more fun. Especially that rack is a first-class ENFO * re, making the dialogues really funny at times. -Graphically pretty, the different areas have varied and mostly different backgrounds. -The French translation is excellent! -Bosses are interesting and varied, despite a relative ease to fight them. The least:-Fortunately the game is not too long because it becomes repetitive in the long run, because the RPG side is not quite successful. The little improvement that one can have changes almost nothing to the gameplay, and especially in combat. -As said just before, the RPG side is not pushed at all. We can improve our four main weapons twice, by harvesting souls and "Super-souls", and voila. Moreover, these improvements will not change much, if not a little more damage (or consume less mana). Conclusion: rack N ruin is a very good action/adventure game, with content, a fun story and pungent dialogues, but RPG fans, flee, this side of the game not being pushed at all. ____ If you have found this evaluation useful, come join our curation page and our forums!
