Rise & Shine
About
Shoot Fast, Think Faster
Rise & Shine is a true "think and gun" that combines elements of arcade shooters, bullet hells, and puzzle platformers to create a new blend of strategy and viscera. Switch between Shine's add-ons to solve puzzles that redefine what bullets can do. Guide projectiles through intricate mazes, electrify damaged equipment to discover new pathways, and juggle 8-bit fruit because why not?
Get Ready to Respawn
Don't let the cute character models fool you, saving Gamearth won't be easy. Prepare to dash flurries of missiles and avoid unseen traps as you fight to prevent its destruction. It's going to take all you've got to stay alive in the face of lethal robot armadas, enormous bosses, giant death wheels, and (of course) brainthirsty zombies. You're not gettin' through this in one piece, kiddo.
Next Level Detail
Enter a world where every level is a single, continuous work of art. Each level is composed of hand drawn illustrations with multiple parallax scroll layers so every forward step is new; no tiling or repeated elements. This meticulous attention to detail allows each frame to flow seamlessly from one to the next, a quality you'll wish you had on your 20th respawn.

This game is fun and rather dynamic without being the most nervous of its category, the Visual is really good and very clean although the level design is feeling a bit to pick up sometimes, due to the fact that one has a little trouble distinguishing the platforms of the décor.
The music of the game and references to the worlds of video games are friendly without being either awesome, the story of the game likewise. A rather well-dosed difficulty, all the same.
Only real negative: it is really short, I spent 2 h on it and still I have galled by moment, and its replayability is non-existent.
In conclusion, rise & shine is a good little independent game that wants to be simple, so not ambitious. To play especially for the Visual.

Product received for free behind a cute 2D to fall on the ground hides in fact a very violent and demanding title. The hand-drawn graphics are beautiful, but the heads and the sheaves of blood are shot.
The action scenes are chained with no downtime and it is enjoyable to shelter behind a rock to emerge and spray everything that is on the screen and then immediately plunge back to cover to avoid a rain of bullets. The environments are varied and some puzzles come to enhance the adventure and fully utilize all the abilities of shine, our magic pistol.
The game is a success, it's not the game of the year but I enjoyed playing it. I regret against its lack of personality and its lifespan, 2H to get to grips is a little short, even if I will play it surely to try to reap all the hidden bonuses or even try the iron man mode of closing the adventure in one life.

First of all, the first thing we'll notice is that the game is beautiful, the designs are pretty and the art direction successful in game (although it's not too much my style). The "cutscenes" are just drawings with bubbles of dialogues and I find that they reinforce the player in the idea that he is in front of a sloppy game.
Where we would expect a nerve and exhilarating title, we find a soft and disappointing game.
The character's maneuverability is not pleasant (even if dash are appreciable).
Only one weapon that has three mode of firing (whose grenade Lance that will only be used rarely) and two types of ammunition... We've seen better.
I found the phases of "puzzle" and the mini-game quite pleasant even if they break the rhythm of a game already in lack of action.
The game will sometimes make you smile with the reactions of the weapon and the winks to the different icons of the game-video.
The story is bland and even a little missed, especially if we look at the motivations of the end boss...
But the worst is the life span; only a little over 3h by resuming some scenes for some successes. A NG + and many secrets exist.
The game is really not generous enough, especially for the €15 that it asks.
