"It Takes longer to read this than to be decapitated. 8.6/10 "The World of Combat Games is very limited, we find fighting titles a bit out of the question and others somewhat more realistic as Chivalry: Medieval Warfare or Blade Symphony where no matter how good you think you are always someone better than you.
An example of this is Rooks Keep, a simple and easy-to-look game. But It is not, because the combat here will show you why you are bad and the Enemy will tear you apart mercilessly. Welcome to the arena.
Currently the game has a wide variety of game modes, which in turn have their own game modes (at least one). Each mode takes a certain aspect and uses it to make the best possible experience, even if it also has its flaws.
In sand, you can choose between other modes to play, each one with its own characteristics and objectives. Among them Deathmatch, the most common and simple of them, where you only have to confront the enemies to win. Last Man Standing where wins the last to stand and conversion, one of which I found more interesting because every enemy you kill happens to be your team. All of them focused on LAN/Online fighting for many players with the ability to fight AI, and with gameplay like this nothing could be missing.
Or is it? It seems that it has not been enough, because the game includes the one that is just the best way I have seen for a while. Where we can play chess in the classic way (using creatures as pieces) or in a twisted version of it, where we can defend our squares in combat if the enemy attacks them.
Rooks Keep has proven that not only is fun, but it looks amazingly good, lighting effects and animation well done with environments and textures of great quality make it not only entertaining to play, but also make it attractive to watch.
On the other hand, the sound does not stand out as much as the graphic aspect, delivering a soundtrack full of easily forgotten pieces and a great majority of sounds that do not finish convincing. A shame to find such a polished title in almost every aspect to have shortcomings in its sound aspect.
Pros: Incredible combat System.
Attractive and impressive Design.
Hard and well-built Artificial Intelligence.
A unique way to mix an RPG with Chess.
Cons: It Can become very difficult.
It is Currently only available in English, although there is not much text.
Conclusion: Rooks Keep is a curious mix of RPG, Combat and Chess, written sounds strange but it is inevitable to recommend something like that. A title that will enchant the fans of the combat games and even the fans of chess, difficult, attractive and very fun. Rooks Keep is one of those jewels on Steam that is definitely worth a try.
