Samorost was a tiny flash game made by a web-design agency Amanita Design, and the sequel was highly requested by the players who were interested in surreal visuals. So Samorost 2 brings back the Gnome, who now has to bring his kidnapped dog back home after completing different environmental puzzles. The game’s story takes the player through the mix of locations that combine futuristic designs and imagery with organic nature settings.
As a point and click adventure, Samorost 2 takes the description literally, and there will be no active inventory, and all of the puzzles will be solved by the items presented on the screen, where players will have to click on the objects in the correct order or with the precise timing to solve a puzzle and move to the next screen. This installment of the series includes an original ambient soundtrack by Tomas Dvorak, who received the Original Sound award at the Flashforward Film Festival 2006.

Samorost 2, like its Predecessor (Samorost), is a beautiful and lovingly drawn game. It is creative and can surprise and mislead you despite the relatively short playing Time of about an Hour. So If you fancy a small One-hour Point-and-Click adventure, You should just check out Samorost 2. Who is a pity about €5 can of course also watch a Let's Play;-P My Playlist from Samorost 1 to 3

Samorost 2 is an interessting little game, that I can highly recomment. I say "little" because the game is quite short and if you are not stuck on one of the riddles you will most likely finish it in one go. But still, this game is awesome. The graphics (especially of the background) remind of pictures from old books which adds to the mysterious flair of the environment. Also although the events take place in (what seems to be) outer space, the design of the environments gives you the feeling that all of this takes place in a tiny universe, where a man and his dog are smaler than their cola-can-spaceship. The characterdesigns are sometimes odd but also charming. The riddles are not to difficult, although sometimes you have to search carefully for hidden objects.

First of all, it should be mentioned that You can play the Predecessor Samorost [amanita-design.net] for free in the Browser, you should definitely do it, because these short Stories about the little Guy in Space are just very successful. If you played the first Part, which doesn't take very long, you should definitely play this second Part, which doesn't take very long. It didn'T take me even an Hour to play through the Game, but just under an hour that really Thrills, because the Style is first cream, looks kind of cool and the Animations are kind of, how can I say ... Sweet. This Part is about freeing his Dog, who was kidnapped by other Creatures living in Space when they just wanted to mop a few Apples. Now our Dog serves as a Hamster for those of Us, as we find out later. So It's first a matter of getting into the enemy Base, freeing the Dog and escaping. The Latter is quite hard when one is on the Way of ... But I don't want to spoil and tell too much. You should play the Game yourself and you really should, because it is extremely worthwhile. I was rarely as enthusiastic about a little Flashgame as I was about this one. I have been hoping for a Successor for a long time, which, as I have just seen, is due to be published later this Year. If that's no Reason to just watch this Game and the first Part linked higher up? Have Fun doing it. More STEAM Games I like [mediennerd.de]
