About

An Environmental Puzzle Game About Family, Grit, and Survival.

Grays roam the land, largely in the absence of human interference. These aren't your typical Zed -- theirs is a very different sort of apocalypse. Animals spontaneously transform into twisted, violent beings. The earth decays, collapsing into a network of abysses. The wilderness thickens.

It has been nine years since That Day when it all started. Pockets of humanity still exist, but are ignorant of one another. Within these isolated havens people try to live as best they can -- for even in a world so broken and dark, daily life must go on.

Darrell and Mary Williams were able to build such a life inside a five-acre fenced yard out in the country. They were even secure enough in their isolated compound that they had a daughter five years after the zombie-like grays appeared.

Life carried on as normally as it could, until another refugee on the run is killed during a nearby attack. Her son is saved and taken in by the Williamses -- who do not realize that this kind action will destroy their home and threaten their entire family. They find themselves caught in the midst of a struggle between two eldritch horrors, and the path to survival is anything but clear.Key Features
  • Solve environmental puzzles under pressure. Figure out how to use the tools, traps, and weapons in each level to clear all the Grays.
  • Nearly 100 hand-crafted levels with multiple difficulty levels ranging between casual and hardcore, developed end to end by two experienced adventure level designers.
  • Complete bonus objectives for higher scores and gold markers.
  • Follow the story of Darrell and Mary as they try to save their family from a new and unexpected threat through in-game storytelling and painted-style cutscenes.
  • Guide different members of the Williams family through branching story paths that result in one of several endings. Depending on your actions, the story may end very poorly, happily, or anywhere in between.
  • Music and sound by composer Pablo Vega provides a chilling atmosphere for players to experience.
  • Included level editor: The same editor used to make the main adventure will let you make your own levels, cutscenes, or even entire adventures.
  • Local 2-player co-op. Using two gamepads, two players on the keyboard, or any combination of the above.

Shattered Haven reviews and comments

Zombies with Heads combat Gameplay In "Shattered Haven" We move in the Top-Down Perspective through the Game world and need to get through the Levels wisely. The Game world is divided into several Sections and in order to progress, you always have to complete several Mini-evels, usually accessible through a Portal. These Mini-evils almost always Consist of the Goal of destroying all the "Horrors" that are basically Zombies. In most cases, you usually start with no Object at all and you have to go to the Point very carefully. The Gun only paralyzes the Horrors, while Iron, Explosives, Fire and Water make up the Gar for them. Any Use of Pedal Splinters, Mines, Grenades, Shovels and Water should be planned accurately, as there is little Funding available. In the normal Game world there are not only the already mentioned Weapons, but also many Equipment. So you can use Axes, Shovels, Sickles, Pickaxes and even more, for example, to smash doors in and get new Ways. Here, too, one has to be careful, because of course the Greys can also use these Paths. Just As versatile as the Equipment, but so are the Horrors. So some endure more or move faster. In Addition, other Beings and Wildlife can also attack the Player. In General, I felt the Degree of Difficulty very hard, I went on it quite often and sometimes it was very frustrating when you were looking for a Mini-level forever or the Game actually demands that you run over existing Tree Textures without getting away from it Has a Clue. Otherwise, there are two Dealers throughout the Game and no really practical Items can be purchased, apart from the Health Boosters. After about 8 Hours you are through with the Game. The Game is also completely playable in the Co-op, but on its own it is probably easier. Story "Shattered Haven" is set 9 Years after the "Zombie Apocalypse." However, the so-called "Horrors" are very susceptible to Water and Iron, not steel balls. Ok, Steel is actually only refined Iron. We play Darrell and, if necessary, Mary, who has built up a small Hidden life and even had a Daughter. However, at the Beginning of The game the family still meets the young Pierce and his transformed Mother. Pierce and the Daughter-in-law are accompanied on their Escape By a strange Mucus creature. In The End, however, You will be imprisoned by the mysterious "Shadow Man" and the Parents will have to kill the Mucus system in order to have their Children again. In Doing so, the Shadow Man opens the aforementioned Portals and enables quick Travel to other Locations. The Story of "Shattered Haven" Is not exactly easy to understand. There are several Factions, all of which cook their own Soup and the Motifs are in the Dark. The Puzzles are only partially solved in the Course of the Story, so the Game leaves me with a Question Mark, even if it finds a Conclusion. The Developer only thinks that he actually wanted to incorporate a lot more different Endings. However, I liked very well that it does not seem like the normal Apocalypse, but rather like a Fantasy Game and there are other Mysteries. Graphic/Sound The Graphics are very simple and pixelated. I was sure at first how the Feeling came across, but was positively surprised. The Style captures the Gameplay very well and allows for this Style of play in the first Place. You shouldn't be too surprised if you dig a Hole and the Zombies just disappear. In 3D, at least this would not have been possible. The Accompanying Music was above average and also has my Taste full with a beautiful Violin Melody In the Background. I would continue to listen to the Soundtrack even without the Game. Conclusion "Shattered Haven" leads a very unrenovated Concept. It combines Zombies with Head Work and offers a whole new Gameplay. The Story is very washed through and not easy to track. In a few Places, the Game annoyed me a lot, for Example when Searching for Mini-flakes. Also, it doesn't seem quite mature in a few Places and you feel like Something would be missing. But for the Idea alone, I give a Thumbs up, if interested in gamble such games, I would advise buying. If you liked the Review, I'd love to see you follow my Curator Group on Steam To get my Reviews of other Games as well.
