About

Shiver takes place in the early 1990’s, away from mobile phones and the Internet. You take on the role of a son seeking to visit his father in a retirement home in the far north of British Columbia, Canada. On the way, you find yourself stranded in the strangely abandoned Windy Oaks National Park: a new park founded on land donated by the Samstone Mining Company as an act of goodwill after a catastrophic sinkhole accident. Using your wits and tenacity you must figure out a way to contact help and escape, before the park consumes you.

Inspired by classic point-and-click adventures, Shiver brings you chilling and immersive gameplay. As you explore the closed-down Windy Oaks National Park, you must be prepared to use the items you find in your snowy environment to problem-solve your way through a variety of challenges. Spanning the course of one captivating hour, you will attempt to unravel the mysteries of the park and escape with your body intact.

  • Atmospheric point-and-click puzzle-horror game
  • Art constructed through a combination of painting and photography
  • Spine-tingling hour of gameplay
  • Spiritual successor to popular indie game Cozy

Shiver reviews and comments

Lach... The Game is kind of funny. The Graphics may not be so madness, but the Puzzles are ... Interesting. And slightly differently. And not too heavy at all. If I was able to play through the Game, the other can also ^^ However, the Playing Time is unfortunately very low. I would have liked to have asked for 1, 2 Hours more.

Product received for free it will suffice for forty minutes to shiver to propose the entirety of his adventure, consensual and already seen a thousand times. After a car accident in the middle of a snowy arch, you are gone in search of objects and clicks to get you out of this concern. But it's obviously not counting scary situations (on paper) that will make you jump (if like me you do it for a nothing) yet obvious and telephoned in this shiver frankly disappointing. Some small puzzles, two or three combinations of objects and that is all: there is not really a script, it is very badly written, the situations are incredible and we are still looking to recover this "almost hour" of play of our time of life as it was no need to get started. The artistic direction is great, failing to get out of the lot, that's already it.

A casual adventure game, extremely short, in French (click on the penultimate option of the Chinese menu, then the penultimate line of the next menu to make the French appear), logical and pleasant. The kind of title that disappoints seasoned adventurers, but offers excellent entertainment for novices and younger players (the elements of "terror" are not scary). Despite the very short lifespan (1 hour to play initially in Chinese, then redo everything in French, to revive again a new game in order to recover the latest steam trophies: certainly, it is a very short game!), this game remains Honorable, which Plus is if it is offered at discounted rate (already that its price is quite low). If I advise this game, it is above all for players not put off by the lifetime of the game and its ease. Shiver (not to be confused with the cult game of Sierra of the years 90: "shivers") proposes the summary exploration of a national park near which the hero had a car accident. It is then necessary to recover moult objects, combine them or with the elements of the set, in order to continue the adventure. Nothing sorcerer in itself, so: this game is neither original in its conception, nor in its history or its reflexive mechanics, but it remains well done, with a pleasant independent aesthetic touch. The presence of steam trophies gives a few minutes of life in addition, which is ultimately not so negligible. To discover and appreciate with knowledge of cause.

Short, but nice.
