About

By the year 2500, Earth had become toxic and unsafe for human life. Pollution and overpopulation had ravaged the planet, forcing humanity to the stars. Colonies and settlements soon sprung up across the solar system, but man had not left its thirst for war behind. Then, they learned their sun was dying, and everything changed. Only when faced with threat greater than each other did the nations of man finally come together. The United Colonies of SOL (UCS) was born, its first and only mission: to locate a new home for mankind, safely beyond the doomed borders of our solar system.

Suit up and take on the role of the Lieutenant Commander, ace fighter pilot and 2nd in command of the UCS Atlas, as you search for a new home, battle a mysterious enemy, and rescue humanity from a fiery end.

SOL: Exodus reviews and comments

Hm, unfortunately no Wing Commander. But quite nice, at least for a few Hours. There are a few loosely connected Missions where you get out somewhere and then you actually just have to fend off Waves of Enemies. Control is also good with Mouse and Keyboard. Graphics and Story are also quite ok for an Indie title. But I have deleted it because there are better Games and the Time for that is too precious for that. 6/10 Points Thumbs down, because it is not a Buy recommendation in itself, as a game in an Indie Bundle but absolutely worth a Look, or if you don't know for 2-3 Euros where with it.

-received in the Bundle-I have little Experience with this Genre, but I tested it. Again, this is a Game in which I would have liked there to be more Music, otherwise it's a bit boring. The Music builds action and thus also the Fun of the Game. Unfortunately, the Controls are not so good either. Controller is detected immediately, but the YX Axis is reversed and so only a Keyboard is possible to play. But What is not so bad, but nevertheless the Control is unfavorably chosen. Instead of flying toagainst with WASD/arrow Buttons, you shoot down Rockets with the Keys and with the Mouse you distract (but you can at least change the Standard Settings). Manual flying is as far as I can see it not possible just to direct and shoot with Mouse. I don't know if that's common with the Genre, but that takes away my Gameplay. I'd rather "participate" in the Game and not just rump around with the Mouse. The Graphics are very good. But with me, the Spark just doesn't come across.

Quite fine – if you don't have anything better to Choose FROM SOL: Exodus isn't actually a bad Game. If you want to ball around in the first Place, you can even have your Fun with it. Unfortunately, however, this Fun is likely to be over after just 3 Hours. There can be no Talk of serious replay Value due to a paltry three Weapon systems, monotonous Mission design and annoying Game elements such as the hacking mini-name or the superfluous skill passages in the final Mission. In Contrast, unfortunately, there is nothing that can really stand out. Although The Plot is based on a nice Basic Idea and the English Voiceover Is surprisingly high quality, this is far from ENOUGH to make SOL: Exodus really worth playing. Suitable only for really tough space simulations and shooter fans. Pro and Kontra: Pro:-Comprehensive Controller support and freely configurable control-generally offers very good Control-the three Levels of difficulty can also be changed within a Campaign-very good Voiceover Neutral:-interesting Basic Concept of action, but unfortunately only implemented very superficially Kontra:-paltry 3 Hours of Playtime-quite monotonous mission design-gives only three different Weapons-last Mission annoyed with skill passages and bugged Checkpoints-disturbing And superfluous hacking Mini-name The full Review: http://www.gamecontrast.de/sol-exodus-review/#more-62810
