Solar Settlers is a card-driven space exploration strategy game set in the far future. Our sun is on the verge of collapse and so mankind has taken to the stars aboard colony ships to seek out a new home. You are the caretaker of one such ship, and must carefully manage the planets you find, technology cards you posses and fellow colonists as they gradually awaken from a long cryo-sleep in order to scratch out a new cradle for humanity.

  • Unlockable cards, races, FTL-Style events and more!
  • Weekly challenge mode with leaderboards.
  • Ladder/ranking system + procedural generation for endless replayability.
  • A satisfying strategic experience in 15 minutes or less.

The game combines and remixes many elements of euro-style designer board games like Race for the Galaxy, Imperial Settlers, Impulse, Keyflower and many more to create a thoughtful, interesting and deep experience. A large collection of homeworlds, technology cards and deep space cards together with BrainGoodGames' staple single-player ladder and random map generation ensure that Solar Settlers will stay interesting for a long time.

Solar Settlers is the 5th game from Canadian game design studio BrainGoodGames, creators of Militia, Axes and Acres, SkyBoats and Minos Strategos. BrainGoodGames is committed to making fun, engaging single-player strategy games that combine random generation with a single-player ladder so you can enjoy our games for as long as you like!

Solar Settlers reviews and comments

Nice and deep tactical card game, but no(t much) content. No reason to play after you unlocked a few more cards because there are no other goals, sadly. 11.05.2018: Because there are more cards now and unlocks and a weekly challenge i can finally change my review to recommended. Thanks!

If you like card games, plateau and rogue-like, solar settlers is made for you. "BrainGoodGames" has created a fast, complex game with incredible replayability, I find this game simply excellent. The only downside is the graphics a little too simplistic but the space is not filled with emptiness!?

I had loved axes and acres very much, and I found some similarities with solar settlers. The two games are however quite different, and this is not at all a simple spatial makeup. Solar settlers is, like the other games of BGG, much richer and more subtle than the first appearances leave to think. I made a video in French that explains a little the rules and the main lines of the game, if you are interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXKmCCLlnCk

It's a really nice and refreshing game, and not that expensive. On the downside, it does not have the promised "replayability". The levels might be randomly generated, but they don't feel different. On top of that, unlocking new races is far too slow. I haven't lost a single map in the couple of hours play time I have. I would like to see the other races, but I simply can't force myself to replay 15+ times with a race, that can't really lose (formids). If they would add more cards, maybe random events and would lower the unlock grind, the game would be better. But I still enjoyed the game, so thumbs up from me.

If You like board games, especially the eurogames, of juices of ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Hard you will be hooked to this "hidden Gemita". Care!!! It'S heroin for eurogamers. The graphics and the music are the worst but that's the least of it. It Has a bestial tactical depth, with some RNG, but it is mitigated if you play well. Luck influences little, the right point that gives flavor to the development of the game, which lasts 20-30 mins. As you progress, new races are unlocked with which you must face the game in another way. The game adapts to your level so that it always involves a very tight challenge. There Are Weekly Challenges to get the maximum score on a given setting. The Studio, BrainGoodGames, consists of a single developer, Brett Lowie, who is a ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ crack designing game mechanics. I downloaded it po torrent to prove it because it looks something stale but I buy it to support the developer. I will Follow closely everything I do. The Minos Strategos, from the same author, I caught it for Android. It is Also very good, but this Solar Settlers simply comes out.
