SPACE HULK ASCENSION reviews and comments

Little tutorial? I had discovered the Board game almost twenty years ago, it was great a bit to the alien 2. I bought the space Hulk series during a very big promo. I find the games well done, else speaks better than me I will hatch some points to help some or future players... It is true that getting started little seems difficult for certain as I was able to read it just need to make the right combos with your units. For my part two Bolter duos (with glove then chainsaw) and flamethrower (with glove then chainsaw). The flamethrower allows to do like napalm bombs, mass damage and also block areas by ignited them, take a look, you are player you will understand quickly the interest, do not hesitate to go to body to body from time to time advance body to c organisations step back then fire (be careful to rewind by facing, box by case do not hesitate to save before a combat phase, an error arrives quickly and there it does not forgive), the flame Lance pulls from the second box... attention so. The flamethrower is limited in ammunition, but we can change that later. The Bolter allows to shoot long distance and body to body (ammunition unlimited but the weapon must cool). As a priority I use the Bolter and support the flame. The captain is there to support both teams (he has a spell that gives an action point more...), or according to a team of three and the second in support. Ah! action points you can increase them when you spend your level points, I use them for:-the bolters: increase the action points then perception and shooting/optional sustained fire upgrade then...-the flames: increase the action points then close combat and resistance/optional I choose incinerator + 2 ammo then... Don't forget to anticipate the combat zones to put you in order to repel the hordes then move and especially count the boxes for the enemy movements (and diagonally...). I use the flames to save me time, they are usually back to block the corridors when you have to retreat in some scenario. Good game

First of all, I specify that did not play the previous version of the developers (full control). Plus, I'm not a fanatical enthusiast of the Warhammer 40K universe. This grind is really very successful. I highly recommend it. In space Hulk Ascension, you lead Space Marines that will walk the dark corridors of a space Hulk, infested with nasty Tyranids. The tactical-type game, turn by turn, is architected around a hub allowing you to select missions. In this one you will have objectives to accomplish. You are not limited in number of rounds to accomplish the goals assigned to you. We start the game with two squads of five characters. As you leave the mission winners, your surviving soldiers will be able to gain experience, and progress (points to distribute on skills, new objects, customization etc...). Our spaces Marines, as powerful as they are, are big Heavies, so all the opposite of agile soldiers. The movements are expensive in action point. Moving is complicated, back is complicated, turning is complicated. This is really well rendered in the game. The environment is made up of narrow corridors and small cramped rooms. The environment is therefore not to our advantage. As a result, travel and overall progression is very slow. In addition, an enemy kills you in one shot. So it is obligatory to move your ' pawns ' gently, covering your rear to the fullest. The death of your characters is definitive. It seems to me therefore imperative to multiply the ' overwatchs ' to move forward serenely. The player must take into account the amount of ammunition he has, by reloading his weapon against 1 point of action, and also the fact that some weapons overheat, yielding 1 point of action to cool them. Some weapons such as the flamethrower require thoughtful positioning, as the type of weapon does not allow coverage. The sound atmosphere is excellent. It's simple, sober, but scary. The Visual environment is excellent. The effects of lights are successful. The dark, cold and sinister side of the game did not put me off. On the contrary, I find that it puts forward the mood a little creepy, of a space Hulk. The feeling of loneliness and oppression in the face of the unknown is well rendered. This game is a straightforward success. I recommend this game to all the fans of tactics, and not only to the amateurs of W40K.
