Space Invaders - Generation Alpha
About
Based on the 1978 Space Invaders shoot'em up arcade game developed by the legendary Tomohiro Nishikado, this prototype iterates upon the classic title whilst intending to allow a new generation of players to experience retro gaming.
The game-play itself is seemingly lifted from the original - the good stuff has been retained whilst the parts around the core experience have been improved by adding a 3D component, an upgrade system, and a better overall UI experience.
While navigating in a new 3D environment, the goal stays the same - defeat wave after wave of descending aliens by moving horizontally around a planet on an axis and shooting lasers to earn as many points as possible.
The new upgrade system can be unlocked by levelling up, offering the player greater replay value and the satisfaction of gaining a new capability each time.
We do hope that this remake will offer a new generation the chance to experience one of the most influential games of the past, as well as give the original fans a brand new way to play Space Invaders all over again.

HISTORYThis game has been developed over 3 weeks in Unity by two designers and two programmers. This prototype is still in early stage of development, but we do hope that you will have as much fun playing it that we did making it!
