About

Split/Second is a racing game with an accent on the destructible environment and the game within a game mechanics.

Gameplay

The title features usual for the genre lap and sprint races, but the unique feature lies in the destructible environment. Unlike previous installments, utilizing such mechanics, in Split/Second the player must fill the "power play" bar and unleash its power on the nearby construction — for example, crush the water boiler when there are opponents underneath it.
The strength of the effect depends on how full the power bar is — there are two levels of damage available. The first-level collisions are mostly minor and lie in the field of damaging some constructions and crushing the billboards, while the second-level ones activate during the full bar completion are lead to the structural damage of the map facilities frequently leading to route changes and landscape altering.

Plot

Power Play mechanics is powered by the narrative underlining it as it tells the story of a TV Show, the participators of which are all the racers including our protagonist. The meter, in this case, represents the reviews watchers give to the show members. The computer-controlled opponents can also turn on the ability and crush something on the player's vehicle — so the audience votes not only for the protagonist.

Split/Second reviews and comments

Split Second is one of my most beloved Games. It allows Action and Race Driving to merge perfectly and offers constant Excitement, as a Race can completely change from one moment to the other. The Voltage remains largely intact, as there are extremely many Variants to knock out Enemies or even change the Track for a large Part. I think the Game would have deserved a lot more Attention than it just gets. Unfortunately, Online Mode no longer works, but this shouldn't be a huge Problem, as you can also play it in the Split-screen (as a couple), as I do with my Siblings or Friends, for Example. While there is not as much Content (Maps, Game Modes), the Combination of modes can promise a lot of Fun. With regard to the Vehicles, it has to be said that there are a lot of Cars, but they sometimes resemble each other in Driving behaviour and Appearance. But There is something for everyone! So: In the Steam Sale yes, but for £19.99million it is far too expensive. Rather, it should be €10 so that even the last Prospective Buyers can play this Game. Rating: 9/10 Update (14.05.17): The Game appears to damage some Scores Itself. So it may be that your own Profile simply becomes unusable and one Is permanently dependent on Savegames on The Internet. Very annoying! Rating after Savegame problems: 7/10

Basically "Pearl Harbour" as a Racing Game: Explosions, Action and a very acceptable Graphics. In "Split/Second," you race action-packed Races in a Reality TV Show where Drivers can trigger distributed events on the Racetracks to take other race participants out of the Race, open Shortcuts or change course. The respective Race is thus aggravated by mass Explosions, which pushes the Fun of the Game to unfamiliar Heights. Split/Second offers six varied game Modes. On the Plot, I Don't think there's much to say about the plot. The Races are split into Episodes, with each Episode consisting of four Races, a Bonus race and an elite race. In Total, there are 12 Episodes. Depending on the Placement, new Cars will be unlocked in the Episode process. Unfortunately, the Handling of the Racing Cars is only mediocre; Especially in Curves, the Cars break out easily or are so cumbersome that the Curve is only difficult to take. Feels partly like a Mix of Need for Speed™ Undercover and Need for Speed™ Hot Pursuit (2010). Furthermore, the Game is limited to 30 FPS-just a minor Blemish in my Opinion, but you hardly believe what a Wung was made in the Forums about it. Thanks to Disney'S Idea to dissolve the Developer Studio (thank you again, Disney), the Multiplayer is unfortunately dead, the great DLCs are also unavailable on Steam. Since the Developer has been disbanded, there are also various serious Memory Problems in the game starting at Episode 6-I only had a short autosave failure, others had to start over, which causes Resentment again in the Forums. So, I can only say: The little Mistakes are to blurting up, buy the Game! -but in the Sale. For five or ten Euros, you really can't go wrong here. Rated 10/10.
