SPOOK (KermesGames)
About
Spook is a hidden-role game where players eliminate each other through democratic lynchings or nighttime assassinations.
There are two teams, The Feds ("good") and The Perps ("bad").
The Feds are composed of Cops and The Spook, who must strategically guide his teammates to victory without blowing his cover. Their primary strategy for neutralizing their opponents is voting them to the gallows during the day phase.
On the other side are The Perps. This team consists of bloodthirsty Hitmen with their Kingpin, who can bypass the legal process by outright blasting their opponents. If The Kingpin snipes The Spook, the match will reach an untimely end with a victory for the "evil" team.
The developer of Spook can boast of several thousand hours experience playing and studying various social deduction games, including Town of Salem, Throne of Lies, Wolvesville, Mindnight, Mindnight, Secret Hitler, Deceit, The Resistance: Avalon, and more.
Based on lessons learned observing the development and evolution of these games, Spook represents their attempt at designing The purest social deduction game where being the best at social deduction & deception gives a player the greatest advantage — not being best at button-pressing, "meta-slaving" or exploiting statistics.
As an alpha-stage prototype, the game UI may appear a bit unpolished. But disregarding any undiscovered bugs, the core game mechanics are all present and ready for playtesting!
If you would like to be a part of this game's development, whether from the programming or asset side, don't hesitate to drop a message.
At present, matches are restricted to 4 players for testing purposes.
