The Bellows: VR Demo
About
"Of all the things you choose in life, you don't get to choose what your nightmares are. You don't pick them; they pick you." -- John Irving
The Bellows has recently been reworked from the ground up. Taking the knowledge gleaned from the previous release, Castle Steps has created a polished horror experience designed to show people just how scary VR can be. The game has been redone with brand new content, new scares, and a singular focus. Scaring you, scaring your family, and scaring your friends. Plunge yourself into a world of nightmares and fear, and discover just how frightening virtual reality can be.
Included in The Bellows:
- The Bellows
We've completely reworked the original Bellows title. While there are certainly nodds to the old game, almost all the content is brand new and completely revamped. It's shorter, scarier, and all around built to be perfect for showing off virtual horror in both home and arcade settings. The game has been built specifically for HTC Vive, but is also supported on Oculus Rift when being played through SteamVR. The game takes on average about 15 minutes to complete.
- The Bellows: Omni
Identical to the revamped Bellows experience described above, we're proud to say we've partnered with Virtuix to make a version of our newly improved game available for use with the Omni.
- The Bellows Legacy:
This is the game that originally came out Halloween 2016. It has some bugs that we were never able to resolve, but we've decided to include it nonetheless. We feel it would be unfair to remove a product people have paid for, although we recognize it has issues that render it a very flawed product on its own. It only plays on Vive, and there are no plans to update it. We hope you enjoy it, but please understand going in that there may be consistent crashes on some hardware.

+ Free + Throughout a few jumpscares + extremely easy to trade and therefore nice for a Demo ...-if you are not sensitive to motion sickness.
~ about 20 Min "Game time," is just a short Creepy Walking Simulator If you don't have a Problem with free locomotion, highly recommended, especially for Lau.

Absolute Recommendation! A well-made and gritty horror adventure. Good and creepy Atmosphere. The Experience is very short, but also free of charge! Duty for all Horror Fans!

I really liked the Demo you definitely try a VR Glasses! Will get me the Full Version and support the Developer! He did a good Job! The Control is very well implemented and everything appears good the Graphics is also very good! In the Demo alone, the Jumpscares are well done and when the Monster comes down the Aisle in front of you, you can just squat down into the Corner! Supports the Developer if you like the Demo need more such Games! :)

I like the demo! It gave me some kind of feeling of beeing inside of something like the first Resident Evil.:-)
The "armswinger" locomotion system works well for me, no nausea and a good feeling for moving slow or fast. This feels much more natural than the so often used teleporting.
Not so good was that you not really can "touch" things. The hands don`t stick to a doorhandle or you can't open a cupboard.
I am wondering a bit about myself but in VR I am really easy to scare. Maybe my imagination puts me a little too much into the game but eventually I'm looking forward for more of the game!
So, please more, more, more of that!

The Bellows can be imagined as a Horror House on the Kirmes.
You walk through the Corridors and you get loled from A to B while the Story is told around you.
Peppered with a few Jump-scares and a spooky Atmosphere, the whole Thing is already Fun and worth a Look.
The Graphics are All in All Right and also running fluently. (GTX 970, i5)
There are several playable Versions, the "original," but one of which needs to be cut, and one revised for the Vive, which is more graphically demanding.
I played both of them because the Story differs a bit.
Only that you get pushed back when you get too close to some Objects is from time to time a bit irritating.
At 20-30 Minutes, the Experience is not alzu too long as it is (at Present?) free to have, but definitely a Recommendation for all Horror Fans.
