The Fifth Day
About
The Fifth Day is a post-apocalyptic survival game set in the time after mankind's extinction to the machines that it created. Your role, as one of these machines, is to survive in the hostile world left behind by man. Explore, build, and hack your way to victory in competitive online survival, or face the wastes alone in offline freeplay mode.Key Alpha FeaturesExplore a world left by man, where rogue AI roam the lands previously inhabited by their creators and masters.
As the game progresses through alpha, here are a few features planned for implementation:
- Explore dense forests, radioactive wastes, and abandoned cities in hopes of finding resources and surviving to the next day in this desolate world.
- Join competitive online play. Survive alone or with a partner through a series of five days to come out on top as the superior machines of the new world. Elimination by death brings the challenge to a whole new level as players are removed from the competition after being destroyed.
- Win online matches to upgrade your character's skills and become the most feared and dangerous machine left behind in this new world.
- Find resources and construct your own settlement. Build anything from small wooden encampments to get you through the night to reinforced bunkers with automated defenses to protect against intruding AI.
- In order to power your mechanical being, you will need to find and manage power sources that each bring different advantages as well as costs to using them.
- Hack enemy AI to follow your commands or support you in your ventures.
- Face the wastes alone in single player freeplay where all you have is your own strength and willpower to survive in this post-apocalyptic world.
As the game progresses through alpha, here are a few features planned for implementation:
- More NPC Characters - New machine AIs with varying and unique behaviors that will greatly enhance the level game flow.
- Expanded Hacking - Many more options and commands for hacking and programming NPCs are planned for development.
- Expanded NPC A.I. - Better A.I. will really provide an interesting challenge to both online and offline play.
- New Construction Options - There are quite a few new features for construction that have been planned as well as suggested by the community that will be exciting to implement.
- Weather Effects - Dynamic weather system that will bring new challenges as well as visual improvements by creating a more atmospheric world.

- UI Enhancements - Various improvements and polishing for the user interface will make for more immersive play.
- New Online Game Modes - More online game modes, including possible team based survival play.

Early Access Review In itself a pretty cool Idea, but I'd like to see a Few changes after all.
Let's start up front: Playing together with Friends is pretty easy, but if you lose the Connection and you're out of the Session, you can't rejoin a running Game, this should be fixed.
So, now to the In-game: The Movements are not quite fleeting yet, the world is still a bit barren, the opponents just spawn near one, the Inventory is still a bit confusing and resourcable Objects are quite rare.
Sure, is still in the Alphastage, but it's already great fun and I'm already looking forward to Patches and Updates.
Can only recommend it

Early Access Review Since Release no significant Changes, you run off a few Halls or Windmills, search for energy Sources and pop off a few Robots and hope you don't blow yourself up in the process because you were too close to it.
The most exciting thing is the Hacking of the small Spaceships, which you can make work by talking well for you, and with the collected Stuff you can maybe build a small Base, but that's the way.
Apart from that, Updates are very rare, although one has been promised that these will now come more regularly.
Actually, I want my Money again, but since nothing comes of it, I just want to warn that you should look at a few Reviews before Buying it to understand the Game and its Possibilities, and whether that really suits you.
Had I done that, I would have 15 Euros more now.

Early Access Review One you can say right away: The Fifth Day is ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Heavy;) That's probably the Reason for the many bad Reviews here, too. Well, on the other hand, many probably don't understand the Meaning of early Access either ...
My Experiences with the Game are consistently positive: It's a Lot of Fun, even if the Beginning is a bit bumpy and difficult, but since the 0.01a Patch this has become a bit of a bit. For the Fact that a single (!) Man behind the Game stands, this is really a fantastic Achievement that you get presented there for €15am.
The Best way to rewrite mans is with "Rust Meets Sir, you are beeing hunted," just Survival with Robots as Enemies.
The Hacking I find above all a very successful Feature and hope that in the Future there will be more Things in the Game that are hackable, E.g. doors or Energy Stations ...
The futuristic Setting is pretty great, too. Of course, the Map still tolerates one or the other Extension or more buildings, but I'm sure they'll be ready until the Release. From me a clear Recommendation for all survival fans who also like to Gamble in Single Player. The Multiplayer is limited in time.
