Anyone realizes that this has maybe the best graphics of any game ever, but the story is controversial. I loved it, it was so original and I never knew what to expect. They made me understand both Abbey's and Ellie's views and side and that was wonderfully done. People who hate it do so because they are emotionally attached to Joel and hate Abbey for that at the beginning, but if you just think about it Ellie and Joel are probably worse people than Abbey. Still I think both of them have flaws and that is what the game tries to tell you.
Further are the factions in the game set up beautifully and you can, again, feel for all of them.
No one is perfect, and revenge is kind of pointless. That is what this game tells you and it does that well.

The first Last of Us was one of my favorite games of all time. TLOU2 sas Visually incredible, great mechanics. However, the writer for the story and characters went extremely far out of their way to make everything full blown SJW(in exchange for making less seemingly realistic situations) and dragged everything out more than it needed to be. I was excited in the beginning, by the end I was begging for it to end.

I borrowed it from a friend, and it blew my mind! I liked the first part, but this one’s definitely now in my top ten all time favourites 👌🏻

A sequel that isn't just fan service. It took some bold risks, I know it didn't pay off for some but for me it for sure did.

There are so many things to say about this game, but I guess the best summary would be: it did not (and probably could not) live up to expectations set by the first game, but that doesnt make it a bad game.

Gameplay: 10/10
If only they could have tightened up the story and fixed the pacing, then the story could have matched the gameplay in greatness and we would have had another massive hit like TLOU or Uncharted4.

Masterpiece in animation and an incredibly moving story. One of the best games I’ve ever played, and one of the best sequels in any form of media.
EDIT: played it again. Utter perfection. Do yourself a favor, go back and play the resort level on infinite crafting and ammo. Did it after new game +. Hilariously fun blasting everyone with bomb arrows after grinding for supplies the whole game through. Plus, zero guilt for annihilating the Rattlers.

Even though this sequel didn't stand a chance against its originator, I still fell in love with it. I liked the idea introduction of new characters as well as their stories. My issue is I feel like some things are out of order, whether that be just my taste or how I am used to traditional storytelling. Though without spoiling, there is a reason why the story is written this order.
Even if you're skeptical, I would recommend trying the game for yourself. There's still a lot of chatter from both extreme sides (this is either the holy grail of gaming or bugsnax will take GOTY over it). I went in thinking it was going to be disappointing due to critics, but loved it. Even if you end up hating it at least you used your own thoughts to come to that.
