The Troma Project reviews and comments

A classic one! Already 15 Years ago this little Pearl was created and loses none of the Fun of a Troma production. Unfortunately, the European Publisher hid the Game in a Drawer and so only a few could enjoy this Game at the Time it was finished. Luckily, I belonged to the Circle of the few at the time and was all the more pleased when I saw that The Troma Project is finally normal to refer to About Steam (Liebend Gern paid 2x for the Game). Those expecting a deeply strategic Game like "Jagged Alliance" should better leave their Fingers off the Game. You control 3 Figures (Toxy, Sgt. Kabukiman and a third Character that the Developers just didn't get out of the Engine) and clean Up Tromaville from the Surf Nazis. This is helped by weapons such as: Wish Mob, Katana, Gun, hand Grenade, ... Between missions there are small Videos of Troma and, of course, often an Appearance by Lemmy (R.I.P.). Use Landscape Strategy? -> Misdisplay Story Logic? -> We are talking about Troma Musical Underage? -> short and thus often repetitive So, actually everything speaks against this Game. So Why Thumbs up? It's actually so bad that it's really much Fun again. Lloyd Kaufman with his Announcements already make up a certain Part of the Fun, but the Game itself is also worthwhile for In Between.

What to make of just a Game that was completed in 2001 but didn't come out until 2015? Of course, Graphics and Gameplay aren't nearly contemporary, but all honestly, who knows Troma doesn't expect that either. As a Fan of the Film Studio, it is of course a dream come true as Toxy and Sgt. Kabukiman To save NYPD Tromaville from The Surf Nazis at the Sounds of Nevermore, Motörhead or even the Theme Tunes of some Troma Movies. Whether this is really already the complete Story, I can't say after Playing through the 1st Level. From a Gameplay, the Game can be compared to the first two Fallout Parts, but small Details are missing, such as the Chance Of hitting. Nevertheless, the Implementation has been sound and straightforward. I think it's quite nice that Lloyd Kaufman (the Troma Boss, so to speak) introduces the Player to the Missions, he likes to digress a little, but you like to forgive that. Unfortunately, the Cutscenes are only unrelated Intersections from the Troma Films and unfortunately have nothing to do with the Game, which would certainly have been a Way in 2001 to really bring out a Game with Potential. Verdict: For less than €5am, of course, there is a clear Buy recommendation for all Troma Fans and also Nostalgics who like Fallout 1 + 2, can complain a little at the Price. Otherwise, one should consider whether one can invest the €550 more wisely.
