About

Verde Station is a first-person story/experience game set on a space station. During your year long solo mission you begin to question the world around you. The game reacts in subtle ways to how you play. Aboard Verde Station, you will test your wits, question everything, and strain to keep your sanity. Welcome to solitude.

It is highly recommended that if you like games that aim to surprise you and keep you questioning what's happening, do not read much about the game. The less you know the better experience you'll have. You can only play it for the first time once.Gameplay:Verde Station is a game of small details, many of which can easily be missed. It can be considered a mystery box game, walking simulator, exploration game, or story game. At its core, Verde Station is an interactive exploration game that lightly reacts to how you play it. Examine every detail of the station, pick up and view items, and dig into computer terminals. You will uncover clues about the station and have to decide if you can trust what you see and hear. As the answers come, so do more questions.Key Features:Reactive Storytelling: The core story of Verde Station is fixed but depending on how you interact with the game you will have a slightly different experience. The world around you reacts to the type of player you are. These are subtle changes specifically designed to match your personality. They are also specifically designed so you won't notice most of them until a second or third play-through.

Interactive Exploration: Examine every item in the station or just a few. Some items even react to how you interact with them. The more you explore, the more story you reveal, and the more you discover about what's really happening. Or so you may think.

No combat and no true puzzles: There are a few elements you may need to think through but no true puzzles. But there are rewards for those that explore everything. Go as fast or as slow as you like throughout the station. Only the most engaged players will find everything their first play through. If you interact with the world differently in a second play-through you'll see different things.

Verde Station reviews and comments

Ok.... Where do I start? I think of the most important one. Does anything really Change in different Playthroughs? Gibts really make a Difference when you give other Answers in the Beginning? No. The Game is between 30 and 45 minutes the first time and always has the same Result, you always die in the End and always on the same Wise place and can change absolutely NOTHING on it. There are a few Little Things to discover here and there, from time to time you can only go to one of the 4 Rooms later, sometimes earlier. But at the End of the process, that doesn't change anything. I am surprised that you allegedly spend a whole Year on the Station, but the Game is never longer than 90 Days. !!! Spoiler!!! So The Character you play turns through after about 30 Days? Wasn't he prepared for prolonged Isolation? I mean, clearly a Year is a long Time but after 30 Days? O.o!!! Spoiler!!! Conclusion: I kind of expected a Game like the "Stanley Parable" unfortunately I just got a Game in which you walk 3 times through 4 Rooms, interact with a Terminal 3 times and then run to the End. It's a bit like a Short Exhibition you look at and just when you like to find the Pictures, close the Museum. ^^ For Nothing, I can recommend it without any Problems, for €1-2 maybe also. But for £10? No way.

Verde Station is a Walking Simulator, but unfortunately not a good One and this despite a fundamentally interesting starting position. However, Verde Station quickly gives Away this Potential, as the few basic Rules of this already minimalist Genre are ignored. One of the Rules is that the Player is rewarded for his Curiosity and his Urge To research. Gone Home, for example, achieves this not only with an emotional Story to be found, but also with an extraordinary Attention to Detail and an always credible Environment. This is not achieved by Verde Station, as the actual Station consists of only four Rooms where there is hardly anything to see or even do. The Pinnacle of Interactivity here is finding Floppy Disks and carrying them to the one Terminal in the Game that can read them out. That's not enough, certainly not if the Lyrics on the Floppy disks have no Relation to the Situation on the Station. The worst Failure, however, Is that Verde Station doesn't bother to be credible. At the Very beginning, it is claimed here that one is the Watchdog of a lonely Station in Space, doing the Rounds every 30 Days and logging changes and errors. That could be a potentially interesting Situation. You could explore the Station for a Day, fix its Problems and then go to Bed to end the Day ... But in Truth, Verde Station is simply mistaken for the Rooms that, on every second Entry, believe that 30 Days have passed and therefore look different And invite a new Self-check. Thank You very Much for the destroyed Illusion! At the End, the "Twist" no longer helps, because nothing is credible here anyway. Why then would the "Twist" mean anything else to one? Verde Station is, in short, an absolute Disappointment. This completely failed Walking Simulator is not worth a Steams-price Itself.
